The fact that they spun the lack of a power adapter as an “environmentally positive” thing is just infuriating! The reality is that Apple removed an essential accessory from the box so they could save on costs and charge you extra to buy it separately. Yet they lie to your face and tell you it’s because it’s “good for the environment.” Such bullcrap. The audacity! Just be honest to your customers.
To be fair, it is also a big environmental win. They should have knocked 10 dollars of the price though.

I’ll be sticking with the S4 for another year.

ECG has been valuable to me, but pulse ox and always-on display aren’t worth $290 (with S4 trade-in) for me, at least. I was waiting for Jeff to say something about battery life gains, but it looks like next year will probably be the year for that. At that point, I’ll be ready for an upgrade.

I am interested in Fitness+, and since that supports S3 and newer, I’m all set there.

And why can’t it be both? iPhones do age out at some point (no longer getting OS updates, battery replacement costs more than an older, used iPhone). Those 5-W chargers must do accumulate somewhere. And other smallish devices have come without a power adapter for years (Fitbit, Bluetooth headphones, GoPros). And while I appreciate my two extra 5-W chargers (I do use them for those devices that came without one), at some point I will run out of uses for extra ones (I still have rooms or bags where it might make sense to place an extra power adapter).

I just ordered AW 6 SS and now I have second thoughts. They don't mention anywhere about sapphire glass. ion X glass on every model?

Being on your wrist and in motion are two reasons why it won’t detect much of anything valid, never mind a consistent pattern that’ll trigger any medical intervention.
It’ll be able to monitor things during the night. And enough people don’t spend all day in motion.

I kind of agree.

I SOOPER agree that they should've lowered the price $20-$25.

But I also know that I have a few drawers in my house that look like this:

Some have about 9-10 Apple chargers/adaptors, some circa 2003 that still work and can take the Apple extension cord.

You’ll be glad to know that’s not the case. Shows up on the Apple Store app.
Ok I was there trying to put an order in and it did not give me the option and none of the aluminum cases showed the red ring. I’ll try another area. Thanks!

Does anyone know what the screens are made of? Do they follow the older models in that the SS ones use sapphire on the front/back. I see everything has sapphire/ceramic back but what about the face?

I'm just confused. I LOVED the black stainless they have had every year. Now it only seems to be available for $1400 with a leather band that I don't want.

Am I just dumb? This has been durable and I don't want something that's going to show wear.

Almost ordered my first SS.
But no Sapphire, no sale.

Pity.

So none of the models have Sapphire? I'm still on a Series 3 SS and the reasons I have gotten the SS models (S0, S2, & S3) was for the Sapphire glass front vs Ion-X. I liked the fact I had no need to put a protector on the front face because it was harder to scratch the glass.

It's listed on the website. $849 for the base 44mm Titanium.

Ordered the space gray titanium 40mm with one of the new woven stretch bands. The Editions are listed separately, which is probably why a lot of people think the titanium cases have been discontinued. I found it in the style creator, since I had a particular band in mind. For all I know, that's the only way to find them now since the Edition isn't listed as a subcategory now.

I doubt sapphire is really gone, but if that does turn out to be the case (pun not intended), there's plenty of time to cancel the order. I just haven't found any press shots of the back of the case yet on anything other than one of the aluminum cases.

Editing to add: contacted a specialist via iMessage support and that rep says that stainless and titanium cases do still have sapphire crystals!

I'll wait to see that confirmed but no sapphire and doubled price for black stainless.. I've flipped from buying my 3rd to not buying another Apple Watch. My list of Apple devices is getting pretty slim.

According to my Apple customer support chat, the screen follows the same cadence as prior years in that the aluminum models use Ion-X and the more expensive have sapphire.

Also new faces exclusive to S6? Surely these should be updated with watchOS7 not hardware.
Watch 6 doesn’t have enough new features so they hard to make the faces exclusive to make up for it.
Tells you all you need to know.

Where in the world did you read that? The watch faces are part of WatchOS 7.
