Hah! Ridiculous. It’s SO easy to bring along a keychain charger that could charge the Apple Watch 4 times over without needing to be recharged itself. It could easily do a six hour bike ride with one of these keychain batteries.

Really not that inconvenient at all.
bring a dongle on a bike ride. super awesome. or going for a long run more than 4 hours. even worse. the Apple Watch is just not a watch designed for athletes or even recreational bikers/hikers who want to track their activities for a day without needing to recharge.

No, it isn’t. But they also don’t have low-res monochrome displays.

TBH, I wouldn’t mind if that rumoured rugged model was just that...like the current AW but without colour and 1 week battery life.

The only “solution” is to have two watches. That’s the only way I can get continual use. Personally, I can’t foresee any time on the near future where that won’t be the case for me. Battery technology would have to majorly improve to where I can get a week before I’d go down to one.

I just keep my older one around for sleeping and charge times.
