So I wonder how dustproof these were before. Never had an issue before. Even with playing in dirt and sand.

"Crack-resistant" :p

I’m a little disappointed that the design is the same (just a slightly larger screen), but I’ll probably get it since I don’t own a AW yet. There’s a chance I’ll also get next year’s AW S8 if that gets a redesign and temp sensor/monitor.

This event was so boring…
Yeah what happened to ‘one more thing”

Yeah a few funky things on the software side for the iPhone but nothing else really, quite disappointing.

very few truly game changing things announced these days. Processors, well that’s another thing…

They didn't update the CPU? Maybe I'll just upgrade to the 6 from my 5 instead?

The presented Apple Watch commercial showed an app presumably able to sense the speed of a tennis serve. I can't be the only tennis player who noticed that one's watch is almost always worn on the non-dominant arm. That is to say, a right-handed player (who would hold the racket and serve with his right hand) would wear the watch on the left arm. Unless I'm missing something, this seems like a very basic thing to overlook.
I didn't see the announcement but have happily been using TennisKeeper with great results. You're right about having to wear the watch on your dominant hand when playing but the app allows you to specify which this is - you can set it and forget it.

“Same great battery life” - nothing great about it. Mine quits before the day is over.
I was going to actually post about this in the AW section. I bought a SS Space Black S5 a few months ago from BestBuy. I have yet to even use it for an entire day and the battery dies very quickly. I thought there may be something wrong with the battery in mine. I was thinking about selling it and buying an S7 but I guess there is no need?

This may be an unpopular opinion but I think the watch may be too "smart" and thus takes up too much energy. Perhaps remove some features. I'm hoping to use mine for music while working out.

agreed. can't even use gps for more than a 6 hour bike ride...not a sport watch. it's a lifestyle watch.
Hah! Ridiculous. It’s SO easy to bring along a keychain charger that could charge the Apple Watch 4 times over without needing to be recharged itself. It could easily do a six hour bike ride with one of these keychain batteries.

Really not that inconvenient at all.

If Prosser was so wrong about this, what does it say about his iPhone 14 leaks?

Apple is well known for parallel pathing. This means making and testing multiple versions of a product and taking it they can, testing the limits and the timing of production. This is for many reasons. They may be ambitious with features or designs. And elect to kill them before reaching production, because of timing or production complexities or costs. Some of these things may end up in the follow years iphone. Some may just be tested design prototypes put into production, and in the end they may decide not to change it.

They are also known for creating siloed teams that work on different projects, with different code names designed to narrow down, isolated and identify the internal sources of leaks. Jon Prosser claims his leaks are from known people inside Apple who have CADs and prototypes. Everything he shows could very likely be true and very likely be from valid Apple sources who say the same thing. That doesn't mean that's what they end up producing and shipping though.

I don’t understand why the AW S3 is still available to purchase. Don’t you have to reset it to install a software update now because of the limited amount of space? I bet it runs really slow now as well. Just replace it with the SE or only sell last years model. This is unnecessarily confusing (hardly, I know) & I doubt people will have a good experience with this model now. Keep the product line simple.

for those that have the series 6 and are underwhelmed about the series 7

I don’t think it’s worth the upgrade nor should you upgrade every year

Speaking for myself coming from a Series 4 with a degraded battery that barely last 1.5 days…. It’s worth the upgrade and I thinking about getting a Titanium this time around

but best believe…. I’m not upgrading again until the series 10/11

Have the series 6. 1.5 days you say? Heck I need to upgrade to your watch.

My S5 lasts through a day and that's with my battery health at 83% after almost 2 years. This is also with a 30 min Peloton ride at the end of the day.

Wait, no flat edges? Are you telling me that Prosser was wrong again, about nearly everything?!?! HOW COULD THAT BE?!?!
Probably next year since Apple loves to milk the products before design changes (don’t blame them). When leaks start to surface it is most likely at least one year away.
