Oh dear!!

Stick to product design Sir Ives and leave UI stuff to the professionals.

After using the iPhone/iPad since day one I have now switched over to Android.

A much nicer experience (IMO), fun to use, powerful, flexible and stable....Still prefer OSX to anything else however.

I think with this keynote Apple silenced the no innovation crowd for a few months ;) great iOS 7.

You couldnt be more wrong! What innovation was there? They copied the font and settings screens from Win 8 phone. They copied the overall appearance of the OS from Android Jelly Bean. Their new "innovations" are taken straight from Auxo, SBSettings, and infinitfolders. Yea, lots of "innovation". Let Cydia developers do all the work for them. And those "flat" icons are hideous. completely underwelming.

Still no download from Safari feature. Still no quick reply feature of messages. Still stuck with one keyboard, no swype or ability for third party keyboards.

It's an odd mix of simplicity and complexity at the same time. I hate it :/

The icons are so simple that they hurt the eyes. It looks like a toy for kids.
At the same time control center is way to complicated - it clutters up the device.

It looks like a marriage between Android, Windows phone, and with all the transparency, sadly also Windows vista and 7

I'm so utterly disappointed.

I must say I don't like the new icons, at least not all of them. Newstand looks horrible, also the mail icon looks quite bad with the gradient.

But apart from this, the design is amazing in the rest of the applications. They might have copied things already present in other phones, but they have made so in a much more logical and beautiful way.

I can't wait to see this changes come into OS X.

I'm no designer but here are my initial thoughts:

Hate the icons for Settings, Safari and Control Center. These look like I drew them. They look terribly unprofessional to my untrained eye. They also look like a design language that can be come dated very quick. (like 80's neon)

Control Center: I'm sorry. This looks like a screen from a 2006 feature phone. This rates as good design?

Multitasking: I like it but seems like there is a lot of wasted space above the windows.

Calendar: Overall I like it. Good info cramed on there. Very white. I don't understand why there can't be any "buttons" or rectangales around touch points. I also don't like that the "June" item is a touch point to go back and it is very small.

Messages: don't like that the name of person you are talking to is same font size as "Messages" and "Contact". The name should be given more importance (more than the bold black color).

Mail: swipe to the "More" and "Trash"...buttons? touch points? what do we call these things now. Again, I don't like it. Too Metro for me...I like buttons! What was wrong with buttons with a small amount of 3D?

Photos: Love it. Hate the icon.

Camera: Love it, love the swipe to diff cameras. 50/50 on the icon.

Stocks: never use it but new app looks like a step back to me. Are the charts still there?

Loved what I saw today except for the Safari icon on the iOS7. It's gonna be an expensive year since need a new MacBook (Air or rMBP), iPad Mini (retina), and an unlocked iPhone 5S (if it comes in a bigger size).

What makes Itunes radio any better than the 1million other radio apps? Or services by soundcloud or last.fm?
It's free with ads or if you have iTunes Match its free with no ads for just $25 per year and also have immediate access to any of your purchased music even CDs you have ripped. Then it is built into the OS of all of your Apple devices and iTunes on the the mac and pc

I think it looks great, simple, clean and they added a ton of JB features, it took Apple sometime (like always) but we knew they would get around to it.

I also applaud the Activation Lock feature, it's not perfect but a huge step in the right direction.

I'll agree that I was expecting something better/different on the design area after all the fuss about the "design overhaul", but all the new features and improvements got me more excited than I expected.

I really like the new look and feature set of iOS 7.0. the modern screens, and font brings iOS devices to a new era.
Every publishing company, magazines etc. are adopting this new look, example... the simple flat design and chose of fonts.

Can't wait to download.
How do I get a beta copy of this?

I think the interface in general looks very VERY better. Loved it!

The icons, in the other hand, they look like something I would have designed (and IDK anything about design).

********** ***t. **********, ********** ****. It's either the definition of idiotism either someone is destroying Apple on purpose. Google is applauding you, Tim. In 2 years you'll ruin everything. The UI is just hideous.

Did you forget your meds today... :)

On another note, did I read right? Users are able to block certain phone numbers now?

My only issue with the "Flat" look icons is the fact that most every icon for every app store app has a glossy look which I think will make the home screen look disjointed.

Think I will stay with my jailbreak and my Ayecon theme. Although besides the icons the new features are very nice!

The day Apple Design Team follow or copy Microsoft designs, then we are all doom. Oh wait!
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I would really like a "Home Screen" with the ability for a FB or Twitter feed. Something I can customize...something larger than a normal app. I think the user should have the option of having that "go to" app on a screen larger than the others. They could make the home screen and lock screen the same screen. How much battery would that save?

depending on the friend, this has been around for months

I am a bit concerned by the comment that it keeps your favourite apps 'updated' in the background, does this mean it will be chewing through people's data allowances even when they are not using it?

Or there's an update for the entire app, will it be pulling that down over 3G while you are not using it?

I would hope that there is an option like in Android to only update apps automatically when connected to wifi.

This is going to be a hot topic of debate until ios 7 is released. I do like the new look and I look forward to trying in out on my iPad 4 but ( and i'm going to catch hell for this ) ios 7 is still not enough to make go back to the iphone. After a week of the galaxy s4 screen I can't just go back.

But FINALLY multi-screen support is OSX!!!!!! And the Mac Pro :) that's all I can say

I'm very impressed! When I saw the control center and then Siri can settings now. I had a jailbreak and went back to stock and iOS 7 has all I ever wanted! IMHO Apple proved themselves to me.
