You couldnt be more wrong! What innovation was there? They copied the font and settings screens from Win 8 phone. They copied the overall appearance of the OS from Android Jelly Bean. Their new "innovations" are taken straight from Auxo, SBSettings, and infinitfolders. Yea, lots of "innovation". Let Cydia developers do all the work for them. And those "flat" icons are hideous. completely underwelming.

Still no download from Safari feature. Still no quick reply feature of messages. Still stuck with one keyboard, no swype or ability for third party keyboards.

Whatever. I thought it was great, and see little resemblance to the things you suggest. Moreover, Apple only highlighted ten or so features, but all the new features. So it doesn't seem like you can comment on what will be available in the final build yet.

Anyone notice "Scan Code" in Passbook? Interesting.

Can't wait to put this on my iPhone 4. My first reaction to the icons was a little hesitant, but you know what, they're growing on me. They are a bit "bright" though, aren't they? lol. But I'm really looking forward to this update.

I'm hoping they'll add quick-reply to notifications by the time it's released. It would be weird if they added that to Mac notifications, but left it out of iOS. ... I really hope they don't use that as a feature for iOS 8! lol.

iOS looks as boring, hideous and inhumane as rumored.

Folks, today marks the end of the old Apple as we knew it - Ive put the final nail into the coffin. R.I.P.

LOL guess there are more 14 year old girls on here than I'd thought... I'm feeling creepy being on here all of a sudden

I remember when iPhone 4 was announced, I thought it looked horrible. Now I think of it as one of the sleekest, most minimal designs I've ever seen.

Hopefully iOS 7 will grow on me. Most of it looks great, except for the Safari and Store icons. Also very happy it supports iPhone 4 and later, I had a bad feeling that my iPhone 4 would not be supported for this.

Have to admit after looking at the features on the website it doesn't look as bad as it did in the keynote

it is pretty bright which is drastic change from the old. would be nice if there was some color customization.

and of course at the bottom the particulars.

AirDrop is available on iPhone 5, iPad (4th generation), iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires an iCloud account.
Siri is available on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply. New female and male voices will be available initially in U.S. English, French, and German.
Find My iPhone enables you to locate iOS devices only when they are on and connected to a registered Wi-Fi network or have an active data plan. Some features may not be available for all countries or all areas.

Booh!

Man - if i wanted to have an Android-looking UI i'd buy a Samsung...

Will definitely miss out on OS7!

And the continued trend of arbitrarily holding back features to push sells of new devices. So sickeningly sad that they feel they have to hold things back just to push sales of devices.

Oh my god, what a terrible company. Wanting to sell their products, it's corporate greed gone mad!

Very nice! Now the Fisher-Price colors have got to go next.

But why announce it now when it is not available for quite a while?

But, of course, why bother with those? Because that wouldn't be innovation, right?

When did Apple EVER say that EVERYTHING they do is innovation? This is the new way to bash Apple. No matter what they do, 'It's not innovation!' Gets quite old!

They could have introduced a time machine, and you'd say, 'They had that back in science fiction in the 1800s! That's no innovation.' Sheesh!

(and Samsung adds .1" to their phones and it's 'innovation'. love it)

since tim cook took the flag, ios has became more more like a rainbow. I cannot say i liked the new design, it has windows's clinical look with heavy white textures i feel like i am in hospital. And androids overrated features like multi tasking and sway bar.

I would prefer frostalls design.

What makes Itunes radio any better than the 1million other radio apps? Or services by soundcloud or last.fm?

Not much TBH, but I will be getting it add free for nothing since I pay for iTunes Match. That is something none of the others offer.

True, but this looks better than JB (I have a Nexus 4). JB is great but iOS 7 just leapfrogged Android. Add to this the fact that as Apple pointed out that Android is fragmented with only about 28% of Android users on JB (and most on 4.1.x instead of 4.2.x). Gingerbread is still the most common Android OS with 38.5% of users. That's sad since Gingerbread was pretty awful (ICS was play and Google finally got it right with JB).

You're smoking some serious weed if you think this leapfrogs Jellybean. Wow. I think it's just the "Ooo, look at the shiny new thing" talking when you start spewing that stuff.

And what do you care what percentage of phones are on what OS? That affects you how? I'd be willing to be that 2 hours ago, before Apple slid that thought into your mind, you didn't have a care in the world about what percentage of devices were on what OS. It wasn't even a passing thought. But now you sound like an Apple clone, spewing the garbage they like to fill your head with.

The bottom line for me is this...I like the look of iOS7. I like that they've finally given us toggles. I don't even mind the white/black OS. But good lord...those icons are f'n HIDEOUS. Just because the 80's are back in style with the kids these days doesn't mean EVERYTHING has to go neon.

Great Stuff, some stuff missing... but overall great!

I was truly afraid of a big letdown but they delivered!

Some people hate the new design, some love it, but that's expected!

iOS 7

LOVE
I love the UI and animations, some fantastic new features and some really cool new tweaks to make some things much more enjoyable to use (I'm looking at you Photos app!), the new multitasking...
General transparency looks awesome!

LIKE
Quick controls look pretty cool too, so is the new folder design, iRadio looks pretty cool too (although surprisingly we didn't see any ads... so wonder what that will be like :( )

DISLIKE
Some of the app icons are fugly, looking at you safari

DISAPPOINTMENTS
Siri seems no smarter to before... not much anyway. And biggest deception: probably isn't offline usable, and it probably isn't as fast as google's voice recognition

Mavericks

LOVE
Multiple homescreen support. Simply awesome! Can't wait! Yes, it's a "simple" or "much needed" fix, but it's here and it looks really well done

They didn't show much but I think it's a pretty good release. And the best news: they didn't bring more iOS to Mac... meaning it's not going to merge into one yet.

Mac Pro
Apart from it looking like a trash bin, it looks pretty good (although I won't be a buyer). However, they didn't talk about pricing, so that might be a point of contention

MacBook Air
Can't complain, seems good on paper

I don't like how they've replaced a lot of the buttons and glyphs with text.

For 3rd-party developers, text is a real pain because it needs to be translated and the translations don't always fit the UI nicely.

I still need to see the new APIs before I can have a real opinion on iOS 7. On iOS, the system and first-party apps really just set the tone for the third-party apps.

That said, I do like the look of Mavericks.

Outstanding features.

Shockingly, mind-blowingly ugly design.

I'm simply stunned that this is Jony Ive's work. It's... Hideous. But I will still upgrade because the functionality enhancements are tremendous.

I do not know why. It is everything he said. A clean consistent design. Certainly not hideous.
