Complete mess, what were they thinking...
And you cant just ignore the message. Its the sender controlling the content, so if they send you a msg with all that crap in, you have no choice.

This is what annoys me too..

Useless, yet ugly. Annoying yet cumbersome.
An impressive combination.

I'm still shaking my head over the lack of hardware updates. Am I being naive to think that maybe there is be another announcement imminent?

Apple just killed every messaging app ever. This is extremely well thought out. We're going to wonder how we used to live with the old app, which conveys very little emotion. This is the #1 problem with texting for me, and they've nailed it.

WWDC has historically been for developers and OS and service update announcements. Most of the time hardware has its own events.

I'm not currently able to watch the stream so I won't comment on what it looks like.

Did anyone notice that macs can only view the new iMessage content not send/create it! After all of that we still can't do the most obvious thing, change the colour of the bubbles . . . Why? Hmmmmmm!
This is the new Apple. Half a**ed products and updates, as if no one in the company actually uses them while in development.

Pretty great. Leap frogged Goog here. Ain't nobody buying an android phone for texting. Too many choices not enough perks on stock. Kinda makes that new chat app Goog was excited about meh to me... Even more so.

By the way, not the best keynote but man some people can't be happy. They just had Googles balls in their mouth and raving how it tasted great when their keynote wasnt all that either.

Well, considering the wait time of Intel getting new chips out and WWDC primarily being for developers to take a look at software, yes.

It looks like they took the interesting bits of WeChat and tried to incorporate it into Messages. I like the idea of bringing that sort of functionality to the US but the execution may need some more work over the next year or two.

Can't decide if serious...

I'm going to assume he is, and I agree. This is Facebook Messenger done right.

You don't need to use any of the new features, but when you do, you'll see its great for casual conversations. Emojify is going to be very useful instead of scrolling the list trying to find that one emoji you want, and liking a message is great.

There's just so much new it's hard to say how it works before getting my hands on the dev build.

Am serious. What I like is that it's all completely optional. They provide low-friction interactions to enhance the messaging experience, or you can just use it normally. It's completely up to you. Each user can go as crazy with it as they want—probably the kids—and people like me can dial it back a few notches, and use it occasionally or some of the less jarring functionality, and then other people can just keep using it as normal. About half of all tech startups right now are trying to figure out this problem, and Apple just knocked it out of the park as a default app that everyone can use (well, except Android, but we'll see if there's anything to that rumor later this year).

Apple never fails to disappoint me with their iGimmicks. The problem is Apple is catering to the masses when they should be catering specifically to me.

With this stupid crappy update, the iPhone is officially a toy for children and stupid teenagers. Sigh. I remember when computers were for men.
