Complete mess, what were they thinking...
And you cant just ignore the message. Its the sender controlling the content, so if they send you a msg with all that crap in, you have no choice.
WWDC has historically been for developers and OS and service update announcements. Most of the time hardware has its own events.Useless, yet ugly. Annoying yet cumbersome.
An impressive combination.
I'm still shaking my head over the lack of hardware updates. Am I being naive to think that maybe there is be another announcement imminent?
This is the new Apple. Half a**ed products and updates, as if no one in the company actually uses them while in development.Did anyone notice that macs can only view the new iMessage content not send/create it! After all of that we still can't do the most obvious thing, change the colour of the bubbles . . . Why? Hmmmmmm!
Well, considering the wait time of Intel getting new chips out and WWDC primarily being for developers to take a look at software, yes.Useless, yet ugly. Annoying yet cumbersome.
An impressive combination.

Can't decide if serious...Apple just killed every messaging app ever. This is extremely well thought out. We're going to wonder how we used to live with the old app, which conveys very little emotion. This is the #1 problem with texting for me, and they've nailed it.

It's called "block caller." I promise, it works wondersComplete mess, what were they thinking...

Ah, it wouldn't be MacRumors without some instant criticism.Wow there's a lot going on the messages app now. Some features are cool, but man it's so confusing and messy.
Am serious. What I like is that it's all completely optional. They provide low-friction interactions to enhance the messaging experience, or you can just use it normally. It's completely up to you. Each user can go as crazy with it as they want—probably the kids—and people like me can dial it back a few notches, and use it occasionally or some of the less jarring functionality, and then other people can just keep using it as normal. About half of all tech startups right now are trying to figure out this problem, and Apple just knocked it out of the park as a default app that everyone can use (well, except Android, but we'll see if there's anything to that rumor later this year). Can't decide if serious...
If Apple is going to release a Messages for Android, wouldn't they do it the same time the as the new Messages ships with iOS 10 in the fall?no messages for android, but at least we get sfw dink pix.
