To everyone wondering why the red iPhone has a white front:
ipod-touch-product-red-2015_GEO_US
ipod-nano-product-red-2015

There you go.

Well that and because they have way more white fronts laying around in inventory than they do black.

iPod Touch hasn't had an update since July 2015.
iPod Nano hasn't had an update since July 2015.
iPod Shuffle hasn't had an update since July 2015.
Apple TV hasn't had an update since October 2015.
iMac hasn't had an update since October 2015.
Macbook Air hasn't had an update since March 2015.
Mac Mini hasn't had an update since October 2014.
Mac Pro hasn't had an update since December 2013.
..... so, let's not upgrade those just yet.

Because nobody is waiting for a new server or workstation and pay the Apple tax to get something state of the art.

The iPad Mini had a release recently in September 2016.
The iPhone 7 had a release recently in September 2016.
The iPad 9.7" had a release recently in September 2016 (even though the Pro model, not the Air).
..... so, let's upgrade what's not even 6 months old.

Because everybody is waiting to replace their recent purchase with the same product again.
Who doesn't want to replace their iPhone 7 with an iPhone 7, and their iPad Air 2 with not an iPad Air Pro.
(hopefully nobody will know that you can put a case on the iPhone 7 that's red ..)
(hopefully nobody will know that there will be 3 new iPad Pro models in a couple of weeks ..)

Tim Cook, 2017.

Though I've been pessimistic around these forums lately in regards to the iPhone, I'd be lying if I didn't admit -- that red iPhone looks pretty sick. I like it. That white Apple logo ties it all together.

I hope Apple will deliver later on at WWDC or else in September. I guess they have something big planned for those products, if not, I hope the stocks will fall so deep that Tim Cook finally realises they are barely at the top of the game anymore, and they are letting it slip.

I was about to rage about it being $100 more and then I saw that it was because they went with the same scheme they did for the Jet Black, where it has to be 128 or 256GB.

It looks beautiful, no doubt about that. I wish it had a nice front too though. I like my phones how I like my coffee. Black and strong.

The phone Santa Claus would love to use.

Apple today announced it is launching a special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus on Friday, March 24.

Screen-Shot-10-e1490106355345-800x538.jpg

PRODUCT(RED) models will be available in 128GB and 256GB storage capacities for the same $749/$849 and $869/$969 prices as the equivalent iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models in standard colors. The anodized aluminum's vibrant red finish is complimented by a white Apple logo and white front bezels.

Apple says the model is in recognition of more than 10 years of partnership between Apple and (RED), which it says gives customers a way to contribute to the Global Fund and "bring the world a step closer to an AIDS-free generation."The special edition iPhone joins the current (PRODUCT)RED lineup, which is available to purchase year-round, including the full iPod line of products, Beats Solo3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones, Beats Pill+ Portable Speaker, the iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case, and a range of accessories for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

The new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone will be available to order on Apple's website, at Apple Stores, and at select authorized resellers and carriers. Apple says the new model will begin shipping to customers by the end of March in the United States and more than 40 countries and regions around the world.

The other countries will include Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, and the UK. Brazil, Chile, Colombia, India, Turkey and other countries will follow in April.

I just want him to grow a pair and walk into the office and slam his fist on the table and say 'we are now down fancy pantsing around, " take control and put focus on what's now and next, and drop all these old products they never want to sell anymore anyway, and simplify their product line They now sell 6 iphones in 6 colors. If you believe so strong in your phone being the best phone, then the 6 isn't eh best one, the se isn't the best one, the million colors aren't the best. SAme with ten different ipads and all that stuff. have one line, laptops, one line iphones, one line ipads.. no need for ipad mini air and ipad mini pro, and iphone plus and SE and a separate red product, and 3 different laptops when you claim one is the best. offer the best one in three sizes, ditch the rest.

if it's confusing for tech ppl to buy the right one, or to feel confused if you have to wait or buy in now, etc.. then your consumers in the apple store wont know left from right anymore at all.

do i need to buy this laptop? it's neweer than the pro, "but its not faster, its just smaller, and expensive, and doesn't perform well in adobe premiere; you need to buy this 2 year old model imac for that" .. oh ok, that is exactly what i expected from apple.. it's why i didn't go intot he microsoft store.

but no, tim doesn't mind fancy pantsing around and confusing their product line and leaving the creative industry hanging except for ten ppl that wanna draw with a 7500 $ apple pen.

We get it, you want to be a fashion company, change your name to apple fashion, and announce that you stop making computers, we will adapt to the next one that delivers what we need.

I cant help remember when Samsung released a rose gold galaxy, every second comment was about copying regardless of the fact that they had had Rose gold phones for years. Now considering you can get a Galaxy edge in a very similar colour Red, I wonder what the same folks thing of that... now it wouldn't be a case of selective copying now. Let me guess, they have done red the proper way. They have waited to perfect the technology to do red as it should be done lol

We all know WWDC doesn't bring new hardware, just software updates, then everyone pins their hopes on September, and after months of waiting, we get emojis or a touch bar or something similarly ridiculous.

But we can keep wishing! I wish for a million dollars.

All of you mad about the white face should be more upset over the lazy design. The silver, gold, and rosegold phones all feature a touch ID sensor that matches the color of their device. Whereas this is a silver touch ID sensor. It's laziness. They're reusing inventory, instead of making something truly aesthetic.

Why no red sensor? Why no black screen?

Well, I think this means there is no Apple keynote until WWDC.

I would agree. I was thinking the invites would be this week. But with all these other silent updates and the rumored 10.5 iPad being potentially delayed, Apple doesn't have any new hardware to debut. (Which includes the Mac line).

And the Apple Park transition is Happening soon. A Keynote makes no sense at this point. That's unfortunate, I was looking forward to a March Keynote.

The already ditched pretty much all the pro-users and focusing on "i-do-my-blog-at-starbucks-and-i'm-f*-cool" ppl otherweise they would use at least 1x usb 3.0-/.1 and mini-dp/mini-hdmi at their books at least for one year more so ppl can use their hardware, camera. Apple became actually a joke in tech sector. Siri sucks a lot against competitors, hardware is 3y old and cost a lot of money, if one company would do something similiar with Linux and give a really good support then OS X will lose in so many ways. The best part, MS did pretty good things in last 2 years expected with Win Phone.

Here. Who said that Apple doesn't innovate anymore or doesn't listen to the customers ?

You're right a market cap of $750B is a joke.

Why stupid white front again!!!??? Can we not get black/red version? Which btw, is a very nice combination?
Why are all the colours except two with white front? I don't get this :(
White front = no sale.

Why, Apple??
So another white iphone? Ok..lol Not sure why people care about color of the back considering most use a case but oh well.

1) true black front is difficult to produce and keep without marks
2) contrary to the whiners on this site, white is the much more widely preferred front color
3) try emailing Tim Cook. He might care...
