It won’t come with this.. the update required for spatial audio will be a hardware update ( all current hardware updates for AirPods Pro are 1.0.0.0) (I think that’s the amount of zeros lol) this is a software update
It is not a hardware update. It was already mentioned at WWDC that a software update will push spatial audio to the AirPods.

And you got the versioning wrong. MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH (1.0.0)

As noted, Spatial Audio will work with existing AirPods Pro and will require both a firmware update (almost certainly this 3A283 update) and iOS 14 GM (likely releasing tomorrow).

Still 2D27 on Pros. I'm sure when I charge them they will update. I found the current F/W has great audio and very good NC.
Yeah, you will update it while leaving the AirPods charged. Waiting for mine to update too.

I think you meant the GM build likely to be released tomorrow?

Just put my pro's on the charger and I have the update now.

Spatial Audio is activated now.
Wow! It's weird I tested it with the TV series "For all ManKind" and it makes it feel like the sound is coming from my ipad. I even took off airpods to make sure they were connected cause the sound feels like it's being projected from the ipad. Wow trippy!

Waiting to rush the update till I see what it's going to happen tomorrow

I am so hyped to try out the spatial audio. How did you test this?

Edit: Sorry, just saw your post at a later time.

My airpods 2 cut out all the time. Stop playing randomly. My version 1 set had similar issues. I think I’m done buying Apple branded headphones, if a firmware update doesn’t fix this buggy mess.
Same with the pros, but with them I can just switch to a different mode and then go back.

Anyway...out of everything to update this is the worst thing to update

It will take a long time for me to find out if I have the update

You sure about that, most articles on the subject say the opposite. Please provide link. thanks

I just tested it with Apple Tvs "For All Mankind" and its really trippy. The Spatial audio makes it seem like the sounds are projecting directly from my Ipad, I had to take off my Airpod pros for second cause it was a lil confusing at first. Wow!

Ah. I wasn’t sure if you could upgrade the hardware version via software, had Been curious as to why that existed

Yes your correct. I thought with the hardware update part for the AirPods Pro that that had to be updated or its stuck on that version
ummm, a hardware update is new hardware

All good.. I thought for spatial audio we had to do a firmware for the hardware number... but it’s still software regardless

Mine work great, sorry for your loss. Have you tried keeping them clean? Have you tried keeping the iPhone (no knowledge for droids) within 100 feet and not through too many walls? Is there radio interference nearby? Seriously, my experience is that they drop out almost not at all, far, far less than any other (non-apple) wireless I have tried. so there must be something going on with your setup.
