Still no option to remotely control presentations over wifi or bluetooth?

There's Keynote Remote available in the App Store. I've used it, it works great on my iPhone. It ought to work on the iPad. Of course, I may not have understood your wish correctly.

I'm going to get it as soon as I finish posting!
I love numbers. I got it a few weeks ago and man making a spread sheet is as easy as getting son from itunes. OMFG!
I have all three apps in the iworks suite.

I figured that would work, too, but Keynote Remote only controls presentations playing on Macs, not on iPads. If an iPad w/ video out is playing the keynote, the only way to advance slides is to go back up to the podium. Still (to the best of my knowledge) no third party clickers or wireless keyboard functionality.

Oh well :)

Great improvement but outline still lacking

I agree with the others that the bullet function needs to be updated to allow for tab to indent the bullet and shift + tab should move the bullet in the opposite direction but this is still a huge improvement!

-The addition of footnotes is extremely welcome!!!! And even though apple says "importing of existing footnote and endnotes" you can trick it to add more as well by copying one of the footnotes in your document and then pasting it where you want it! Pages will auto number it in sequence with your other footnotes and then you can edit the text of the footnote by simply clicking on it at the bottom of the page!!!! I just took a term paper from last semester from my iDisk, added several new footnotes and then copied it back to my iDisk and it had all of the new footnotes!!! A roundtrip from mac/pc to iPad and back is finally a reality:)
-The iDisk implementation is easy and works great!
-Word count is also a nice addition

Hey, iWork for iPad is slightly less sucky! They got rid of a huge complaint by letting us use MobileMe without resorting to crazy work arounds (eg Air Sharing HD).

I wonder if they are going to allow Airplay for App's that want to use the Video out or if this is already in the system waiting for 4.2?

That way you could have the iPad for the presenter screen and push to the projector via AppleTV.

Even if that does work some form of remote clicker support is really needed.

Was the major bug ever fixed, regarding pages and emailing a PDF file and on a computer receiving the file the fonts did not come through correct?

I recall this make the function basically useless, was it fixed some time ago, or has it just been fixed now?

File size limitation removed?

What about the fact that keynote files cannot be larger than 30MB? Has that been addressed? It means that there is no way to make a Keynote file with MOV/MPEG files contained within the presentation.

This looks like a great update. This update along with printing in 4.2 will dramatically increase the productivity of the iPad. The only glaring feature hole I see is support for merged cells in Numbers.

I do wonder—skeptically—about the iDisk integration. My experience with iDisk through the years is that is slow and unreliable—corrupt files unreliable. iDisk was such a bad experience that it held me back from using DropBox, despite my colleagues raving about it.

DropBox is fast, transparent, and 100% reliable. It backs up wonderfully with TimeMachine and there is even document versioning on their server—just in case.

I think Apple should buy DropBox. It would be killer in the hands of Google—I'm sure that thought has occurred to them—and it could bring a multi-platform solution into the Apple camp which is widely used by tons of productivity Apps.

Anyway, back on topic, I love iWork, and this new update is great. I am sure the iWork team is feeling pressure from Microsoft since Office 11 is coming soon and from what I have heard, it's killer. (Except for the ribbon UI.)

Competition is great for consumers, so I can't wait to see what Apple has in store for us with iWork 11 and v2 of the iPad apps. Until then, they need DropBox or a serious cloud syncing strategy which is blazing fast and 100% reliable.

Apple TV integration?

I wonder if you'll be able to stream a keynote presentation to Apple TV? Wouldn't that be a great way to present, while holding your iPad in your hand, and everything streaming to the projector or plasma screen?

No dropbox support!

practically useless in my opinion. I have a mobileme account, and iDisk is a sad sad thing.

Having sat through two Page 1 Appshopper ads today, I'm wondering how it doesn't violate the provision in the affiliate terms of use to not scrape text and images from Apple sites.

Sadly, it appears iDisk still stinks.

I hope DropBox puts WebDAV in their roadmap. That would be awesome. (Or Apple integrates with DropBox's API, but I would bet on it.)

Hmmm...

I read the linked thread, but I have to say that my experience has been different, and my iDisk connection works fine on my iPhone, iPad, and iMac, the iMac being a lowly 2005 1.8ghz G5 PPC running 10.5.8!

Not sure what the problem is with the posters over at Apple support, but I uploaded a couple Pages docs and exported a Keynote file to PPT and upped to iDisk and it just took a couple of seconds, maxed out at my normal (good) upload speed. YMMV.

And yes, a Dropbox option would be ideal.
