Hmmm...
I read the linked thread, but I have to say that my experience has been different, and my iDisk connection works fine on my iPhone, iPad, and iMac, the iMac being a lowly 2005 1.8ghz G5 PPC running 10.5.8!
Not sure what the problem is with the posters over at Apple support, but I uploaded a couple Pages docs and exported a Keynote file to PPT and upped to iDisk and it just took a couple of seconds, maxed out at my normal (good) upload speed. YMMV.
And yes, a Dropbox option would be ideal.
I see that the iWork for iPad update allows you to export to PowerPoint and Excel, but can you export to Word from Pages? Or could you already do this with the old version?

Apple needs to release the iPhone and iPod Touch versions in time for the holiday season. I would then buy them immediatley.
My calculator (similar display size to iPhone / iPod touch) has a spreadsheet app and I can only see 3-4 columns at a time unless I make them really narrow. It has a presentation app too but I've never tried it.What would you do with them? View one cell at a time? If it's going to be a miserable experience, Apple isn't going to do it. For this I'm thankful.
What a shame that it still does NOT support printing under iOS 4.2![]()

Word Count Yes!!!!!!!!!!
The ability to import and export existing footnotes is a big deal. This renders Pages slightly less useless than it had been before.
Very true... I'm sure it still doesn't track changes though which is a big issue.... maybe the next version.
I won't consider the iPad a "first class" tool until Microsoft makes Office for iPad.
Perhaps they'll make use of the Retina Display on the most recent products to display as much as possible. If that's the case, they might even wait until the next iPhone announcement so that they wouldn't get attacked for supporting just one generation (i.e. the next iPhone will assumedly have Retina Display too). What would you do with them? Finally! I've been waiting for the MobileMe compatibility since day 1.
