Any word on how the webdav support works, with, e.g., Google Docs?

It sounds like these apps are getting better, and for the price they're very compelling.

I'll surely get them when a 7" iPad comes out, although I'll buy whatever iPad comes out for version 2.

Still no internal hyperlinks (links to other slides) or presenter notes in keynote. Basic features still missing.

I realise that the app is a slimmed down version of the desktop app and this is reflected in price - but at the moment it is unusable due to lack of these basic features.

Still no Dropbox and/or Google Docs exporting capability. No thanks, I'll stick with Documents2Go.

Poor show Apple (again) on missing out basic features that your customers want, and the competition offers as standard.

Well, you can make changes to existing footnotes, send the document back to iDisk and the changes remain with the document, so it is definitely a step in the right direction. I imagine the next big update will have the ability to create notes.

Personally, the most important part of the update was Apple acknowledging that footnotes are a major issue and they are working towards remedying the situation.

-The addition of footnotes is extremely welcome!!!! And even though apple says "importing of existing footnote and endnotes" you can trick it to add more as well by copying one of the footnotes in your document and then pasting it where you want it! Pages will auto number it in sequence with your other footnotes and then you can edit the text of the footnote by simply clicking on it at the bottom of the page!!!! I just took a term paper from last semester from my iDisk, added several new footnotes and then copied it back to my iDisk and it had all of the new footnotes!!! A roundtrip from mac/pc to iPad and back is finally a reality:)

Unfortunately, the iPad version of Numbers still breaks all of my desktop spreadsheets as I use headers & footers and hidden cells in all of my spreadsheets.

If I could edit spreadsheets on the go, the iPad would be a great travel companion, but as of now I still need to lug my MacBook Pro with me just to make simple changes to my documents.

I've been using Numbers for a few years now on the desktop and have been a huge evangelist for it in my office, but these kinds of silly shortcomings on the iPad are fairly frustrating.

This looks like a great update. This update along with printing in 4.2 will dramatically increase the productivity of the iPad. The only glaring feature hole I see is support for merged cells in Numbers.

STOP IT! Merging cells is the most annoying thing people ever created in Excel. First thing I do with most spreadsheets is get rid of that damn thing. The old version still exists, only it doesn't destroy spreadsheet functionality, Center Across.

Agreed, lack of hyperlinks mean I can't use an iPad - much as I would like to... Apple have had my feedback via the accepted channels, so one can but hope...

Wake up Apple!

Still no reading password protected docs

There is still no way to open a password protected .doc created in another program. This is serious limitation, and for my work a complete deal breaker. No third party apps either that will open password protected docs. PDF's are ok - why no .doc support??
