2:33 EST and I still have 1 GB of space...

I have 10 GB now, automatically. Nice change. I almost bought more storage a few weeks ago, but it felt like a rip off....now I feel like I'm getting what I pay for!

Don't agree, although the tweenies are a huge market, I for one would never visit a site like facebook or whatever, just too many ads and other catches, way too juvenille. You know what? .Mac will never take off until Apple makes it free like MSN or FaceBook. They don't stand a chance, and I think it's a very stupid move on Apple. I have a lot of friends that own Macs - but none of them use .Mac for sharing photos or anything (actually they don't use it at all). Nobody wants to pay for this kind of service, including myself. If it was free I am sure all of us would try it out and start using it and Apple would get a lot of "internet market share" and be able to make money on advertising and what else comes with this kind of community. But now... not happening.
interesting... i didn't know that was a confirmed feature of .mac to come?!?!
And now, back to my Mac.
Ever need something on your Mac when you were thousands of miles from home? With Back to My Mac and a .Mac account, you can connect to any of your Macs at home from any Mac on the Internet. Your home computers will appear in the shared section of the sidebar just as they do when you’re in the living room.

.Mac says the 10GB storage will be available Aug.14th.

Hm.
The web site shows me as having 10 GB (and I fiddled with the balance some, 1 GB for mail 9 GB for disk), but my iDisk preference is still stuck at 1 GB![]()
Ok... so they increased it to 10GB. I mean it may seem pretty low compared to hosting companies out there, but no one has a web gallery interface like .Mac. Keep that in mind.
No ads, pro design, web 2.0, easy sync, you can go on and on....

Nice photosGreat example.. thanks for sharing. How easy was it for you to get this up and going? Why am I asking.. I should just go and do it!
Is anybody using a .Mac Family Pack? Is it worthwhile?
This browser is incompatible with .Mac Web Gallery.
We support the following browsers:
Mac OS X
Firefox 1.5 or later

Unless we see some improved functionality, this is a pretty lame update. Certainly not worthy of mentioning months ago when asked about a .Mac revamp.
Wow, not only does the new web gallery not support Panther's Safari, but it doesn't even have a fallback mode for older browsers. You're just locked out. Pathetic!

This is Apple's example, linked from http://www.apple.com/ilife/iphoto/#webgallery

They also added junk mail support to the .Mac webmail.
I never noticed that you could have a photo tied to your outgoing mail before, but I don't know if that's new, too.
um. you know the example he posted was an Apple example, right?Nice photosGreat example.. thanks for sharing. How easy was it for you to get this up and going? Why am I asking.. I should just go and do it!
Ah, the "benefits" of Web 2.0. That is disappointing to hear. Visual elements of Web 2.0 can be made backwards capable. Bad Apple.
Any guess as to whether or not that is extended to current subscribers? I just renewed 1.5 months ago???
Meh. 10GB while impressive for most doesn't even hold my entire photo collection.
argh... we added more space to our .Mac account about 2/3 months back... bah!
