Good to se USB C on all the magic accessories. Was not expecting to see any other change. Would have been nice if Apple sells the colored mouse and keyboard separately.

Folks that have had this mouse a while I'm sure have developed a routine of some sort of charging. Every two week reminder on calendar, Friday end of day plug it in and go home, etc. I have used one for years and managed to never have the battery run out on me while working. Seems like mountain out of a mole hill scenario. If you have a clever retort, save it. This is my experience.

I see the “low battery” alert.
I plug in the mouse.
I go for coffee.

The reason Apple has never changed it is because it’s a non-issue. It makes a fun meme, but that’s about all.

What is a problem is that you can’t pair their kit with more than one device.

I don't have a problem with the under-side charging port. It's not as if the battery lasts less than 1 day they you need to charge it in the middle of working. If it needs charging, put it on charge when leaving the office so it is ready in the morning. No problem!

I can order all the new accessories on the Apple site. $200 for the keyboard. Makes my custom mech keyboard look CHEAP.

And who’s talking about keeping the charging cable strewn across my desk? Just great to have the option to connect it when a charge is needed and not have to stop working.

For the last 26 years USB devices have given you a low battery warning so that you put it on the charger when you are not using it.

Here I am in 2024 reminding you.

Calm your horses, no one wrote or said anywhere that this is an innovation. Where did you get that from?

When can say it’s innovative if we consider only the Apple ecosystem. A first ever.

A bit like Apple Intelligence. It’s something wasn’t there before.

It does not mean it wasn’t ever done similarly at a lower analysis resolution.

Again, don't use my mouse every day...may go quite a few days or more between uses. I've come upon a dead or nearly dead mouse a handful of times and it's nice to not have to plug it in and wait to use it. Of course it's not the end of the world but it's an easy convenience to add. But as myself and others have repeatedly emphasized, the poor charging port location is the least of the magic mouse's problems. Just one tick box on a ****** designed product. Expecting Apple to fix it after so many years of apathy is foolish on our part.

For the last few decades, wireless mice have existed that allow you to plug it in to recharge its battery AND use it simultaneously.

Here I am in 2024 reminding both you and Apple. 😜

The last time I charged my Logitech MX Master was in July and it is currently 50% battery life. I use it daily with Blender on a PC. It doesn't matter where the port is but it would look better if it was unseen.

Vision Pro is only compatible with the $99 keyboard and $129 trackpad. I’m puzzled why the one with Touch ID keyboards and mouse aren’t.

Oh well, I will be purchasing those two items today. I refused to buy the lightning version when I bought the AVP in February as I did with the iPhone 14P due to the old standard.

Still no backlight. But I have no other options and that’s how they designed it.

Anyone know what this key is for on the new keyboard?View attachment 2443444
Yes, if you look at the icon it depicts the usb port on the underside of the mouse. To enhance security, you have to hold down that button while the mouse is being charged. This is to avoid the spread of 'computer viruses' while the wireless mouse is connected, essentially acting as 'block' mechanism. Tim's team thinks of everything.

Mice are super subject tools. I love the MM, others in the stuido work with Logic MX, one of our team demanded a wired Apple Mouse, another one worked with her Wacom pad only – it is your direct, intuitive connection to the machine you work with, thus it is almost bio-kybernetic on a level most people cannot explain. As much as people can discuss keyboards (Apple vs retroclicky), mouse are much more intensive and personal. Some use the correct, non-«natural» movement, others like the iPhonish behavior. Changing the mouse would thus take some vintage Apple Guts (you know, like removing a drive or port) and we know how they have lost the urge to lead by change.
I personally love the MagicMouse, especially paired with BetterTouch, but when I forget to charge it overnight, I have two Logis and an Apple Trackpad (plus a Wacom, but that is awkward for everyday work) to work with, and changing the UserInterface-tools once in a while is good for the brain (and especially for the hand and arm, considering RSI). So the port is no big deal to me (except for the design-over-function part which is weird) and we all have to see that there is no possibility on this smooth almost seamless and contourless small device to put it anywhere but on the bottom.
I would have welcomed Qi/MagSafe, which would just feel natural with the MM.
Apart from that I think Apple should do a MM pro, which has longer battery life, more grip/contour/ergonomics, a better positioned port and additional buttons as the MX has, programmable per App. (But I think we will never see that ;-))

Like many, I didn't like MM and much preferred the popular MX Master for years, but there's something in MM that kept bringing me back to it. It all changed one day when I realised how to hold it differently (compared to the MX Master) to keep my hand, arm and shoulder relaxed. Ever since then, I don't have a problem with it.

Nowadays, I switch regularly between my MM (left hand) and MX Anywhere 3s (right hand) to minimise the strain on my body. I never have any issues with charging as a result, because 1) it takes forever to drain the battery, and 2) I can just switch to another mouse and hand or take a walk if I do need to.

So no fix for pre-Sequoia 15.1 users then. Thanks Apple.
There's totally a fix for pre-Sequoia 15.1 users.

Upgrade your OS to the latest version which fixes bugs, security issues, and provides for a better experience vs. staying on the old version of the OS.

It's almost as if the *new/latest* hardware devices need the *newest/latest* version of the OS to work. Strange.

That's not a fix. Many can't use Sequoia on their main machines just yet for technical reasons.
