So will the band itself be for sale separately?

The M5 should add a nice performance boost, but right now I don't feel the AVP is really hurting in terms of performance with the M2.
Newsroom says yes.

I just sold my day-1 first gen Vision Pro on eBay last month for a fair price. I even put the rumor of this coming out soon in the description. To that end, I think it's hilarious Apple isn't doing a trade-in deal for this.

At any rate, booked my demo. 120hz is pretty huge, especially for 60fps content. Wishing they would let me steer the demo a bit, but I'll be nice. Always have to refrain from being *that guy* at the Apple Store.
I wouldn't mind finding one second had just to give it a try without spending as much on a new one.

I am sure the headband will be a big improvement on fit. Every other VR maker has done this or at least has had options for this type of of headband. Not sure how that was missed in Apple's R&D. As others have said price is way to high for consumer use. Would love one for watching movies but for the amount of movies I watch in this would not be worth the price at all. I enjoy movies every now and then in my Quest 2 and might upgrade to a Quest 3 which has a better display for a fraction of the price, seems the better buy at the moment. Would be nice if Apple could make a reasonably priced model for the masses.

Development purposes.

If you want better apps, you need better hardware. The M2 can only do so much before you need a better chip. The highly sought-after "killer apps" would undoubtedly become even more impressive with enhanced hardware.

Apple is providing developers with the necessary tools and resources to expand their creative vision beyond the capabilities demonstrated with the M2 model.

Developers have nearly given up making apps for the Vision Pro and considering the vast bulk of sales was during the initial launch the new M5 version will represent a vanishing tiny percentage of the already tiny Vision Pro community… not enough for developers to ever develop for the improvements the M5 brings.

Speaking of developers and Apps for AVP -- this is quite an indictment and really indicative of the overall support problem plaguing this platform.

These are both software devs btw 👇
