Nonsense. I am a Canadian citizen. I have a US Apple ID. I have a USA mailing address. I live wherever my boots take me and I am allowed to live in USA for up to 6 months in any 365 day period. My address could be the Ritz Hotel or Motel 6 or houses I own. No "VPN" needed! I'm in Canada - but will come in February to USA. So why is this fraud? It's certainly not fraud! Shame on you.

What makes you the judge of this fraud stuff?
Give it a rest will you. You posted just to be awkward because you know what your doing is not fraud.

As soon as Apple releases a digital diving goggles, people go crazy. I'm looking forward to the comments when the first bugs will come...

It is if the person does not live in the US. Apple pre-order states that a US Apple ID is needed. If people are therefore using VPN's to make it look like they are living or from the US so they can bypass the restrictions placed on ordering then it's fraud because they are fraudulently representing themselves as being somewhere where they are not, and fraud is illegal. But this type of thing is for another topic on another day. It is not to be discussed any further in here as it's off topic.
Nobody needs to use a VPN to set up a US Apple ID, nor to place an order for anything from the US Apple Store.

Do you seriously think that Apple will actively prevent people from the US and with US Apple ID's from placing orders when they are on a trip overseas?

You really are making yourself look like a complete fool in this thread.

Other than the prescription glass limitation and arguably hardware support, the limits here are fairly standard.

With that being said, probably it’s just better to wait until Apple Vision Pro to be made available in other countries later.

Not true. The AppStore only being available in US is a bigger limitation and falls into the same category of restrictions that medical devices on iOS that use the AppStore have.

That makes it extremely limiting to acquire a device and use it abroad unless you have a US address and US funding source for your AppStore purchases. It won’t be enough to just have a dummy account in the US store.

Can a USD Apple Gift Card be used to add credit to the US App Store?

/Edit

I'll save you the trouble. Yes. Yes it can. And you can order an Apple Gift Card in USD and have it delivered by email, simply by setting your Apple Store location to the US and using Apple Pay.

No US address required.
No US credit card required.
No VPN required.

Not only that, that reply implicates using VPN is illegal, which in many countries is not, including US.

There are tons of services online selling US App Store gift cards so people can use said gift cards to buy App Store stuff, like micro transactions. After Apple unifies App Store cards into one card, those cards may also be able to recharge and make expensive purchases like Apple Vision Pro and have it sent to overseas addresses by proxy services.

it’s not super difficult to acquire a device these days. It’s the hardware support that’s the most difficult.

Should be available in major international markets in the coming months. For now, seems like having a US Apple ID is the only restriction.
