Why announce a product that's a year and a half away from release in territories outside its native one? Which in itself is 7 or 8 months away from release.

They need developers to start developing apps for it. The alternative would be like the original iPhone with only stock apps.

Still wondering, why did they place the power cord connection on the left hand side instead of in the middle of the back?
They want the headband to be comfortable. Doing it this way will also allow you to lie down while wearing the headset, or rest your head on the plane seat behind you etc.

This seems odd to me. End of 2024 one would expect a new version of the product, no? Why would a buy a product with this price point about a year and a half after it was announced? Old tech by then.
The headset will be released in 2024, and by the end of 2024 you're expecting a new one?

There is nothing like this on the market atm. Others are pushing back announcements in light of what apple is heading towards in early 2024. This won't be "old tech" by the time it comes out.

Apple will be working on a non-pro version to bring the price down. I'm not expecting a new pro one till late 2025 or 2026. I'll be happy if I'm wrong; I don't want to wait long.

True however they have developers make apps for devices before the public know they exist. Games consoles do it all the time. I just find the whole thing daft anyway, it’s the utterly stupid fake creepy eyes in the front and the very creepy promoting it with families and young children.

The software is needed for developers to create them they can’t just create apps with nothing to go on.

The original iPhone even with only the stock apps was a strong product. I don’t think that the App Store model is good at producing consistent pro level excellence in software, which is what they need.

Apple knows best where there core audience is, I’m sure they will make their launch window choices based on projected sales.

I agree, the original iPhone was super strong without the App Store. I think that's mainly because of its competition at the time though; try releasing a smartphone nowadays with a handful of apps and no options to download more.

From all the reviews it appears the vision pro is similarly a really strong product already. I'm still looking forward to seeing what the devs come up with. 95% of apps made may be rubbish, but I'm sure there will be some which are great.

I’m not so sure the Vision Pro is such a strong product. It seems to check the boxes for basic computing inside the device, but that’s only a by-the-by feature…I think for actual prolonged productivity sessions people will still use a Mac. Apple really need to demonstrate the use cases of ‘spatial computing’.
