The travel case is freaking huge... that's a big item to take onto a plane with a carry-on, another bag for your laptop, chargers, etc. The personas are super creepy. Again, if you are by yourself a lot, maybe this has some applications for you, but I'm definitely just going to return mine unopened.

Vision Pro is above 4K resolution. Vision Pro can provide screen sizes much larger than 100".

The Vision Pro is only above 4K resolution when using up the entire panel - if you're making a quasi 100" screen then it isn't, because you don't want that screen to be one inch from your face. It's effective resolution for watching video content on a big screen is more like HD.

Which is still decent, but it's not "better than a real life OLED" in terms of image resolution.

The Verge's text review is quite informative, definitely the most useful.

AND YOU CANNOT HOT SWAP BATTERIES!! 🤣🤣🤣 All of you out here thinking you are doing work or watching movies on airplanes, are going to be big mad with your preorders. I wonder what the return process is like?
You cannot hot-swap the battery, in the same way that you cannot hot-swap your iPhone’s or iPad’s battery, but you can attach a power bank the same way you can with an iPhone or iPad. This was clear since June.

This looks both cool and clunky at the same time. There’s a big “gee whiz” factor here, and it will give you some entertainment, but otherwise it isn’t living up to Apple’s hype (Shocker, I know). It‘s one of those devices that seems like it’s going to need about 3-4 iterations before it’s worth taking another look. For now, however, this is a definite pass for me.

Hardly. She is annoying listening to and just a hype man for Apple. That being said, wait for real world reviews to hit.

Oh it's not up for debate. The unbridled hate for anything she does is clearly rooted in anger and jealousy. Anger, because people here don't consider her to be a serious reviewer, in many cases because she's a woman, and ultimately because of her success. It drives people insane that she targets a more mainstream/casual audience with her content and that it works.

Boo. Freaking. Hoo.

So it is basically too heavy, too warm, with a small viewing area (smaller than the Quest 3) and an annoying battery you always have to watch out for, which actually makes you feel even more limited in your movement.

Also, did I hear that right, the battery is literally attached to the device?????? So you can’t just buy another 3 batteries or something and swap them out? Or not attaching one at all when you want to use it plugged in to the wall while sitting? What the actual f

edit: no need to downvote me I am just quoting the learnings from the reviews posted here

Here's something 100% objective: an 100" 4K OLED flat panel is more expensive than the Vision Pro.
But it’s 4K, which the simulated screen in VR space isn’t, due to the 3D transformations necessary and due to not fully filling the AVP’s OLED displays. And the Mac mirroring is limited to 2560x1440 to begin with (according to The Verge).

Come on, Nilays video from the Verge is as balances as you can wish for. His conclusion is even that the tradoffs arent worth it. Do you consider that message to be Apple PR? If you haven’t watched the videos, then don’t give comments that are basically calling into question professional journalists unprofessional.

That's all people do around here anymore. They whine and moan and complain about analysts, reviewers, Apple themselves, etc.

Some people can never be pleased.

visionOS is a monster compared with quest OS, will see in the next months, i always knew it, a HUGE product but a NASTY price, i'll waiting for Apple's drop, pro model or non pro model, i don't care, the use experience will be the same,

but away, ijustine video is out the hook

I'll just plug it in and charge when needed, what's the big deal? I do the same with my Mac, iPad, iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch, etc. Every flight I've been on has had a regular plug capable of charging this device right on the seat.

These are not reviews. It’s basically adverts, these YouTubers get basically bribed as they know they won’t get the opportunity to ‘review’ future products before their launch should they be less than enthusiastic in their ‘reviews’.

Only real review seems like the verge. Everything else is more showing you what it does or is an unboxing.

Nope. Vision Pro has 23 million pixels total. A 4K display has around 8 million pixels. So using the whole panel is actually more like 8K than 4K.

The single thing right now I would personally love is to change my insanely boring dark environment in cloudy dreary cold Philly into a beach or a top of a mountain..LOL. Pricing..eh.

I do wonder if these somewhat wild, yet creepy "personas" will come to future iPhones? The Vision Pro is basically using the Lidar, camera to scan the face into some fairly realistic AI faces.

Wouldn't be shocked if this does come to the iPhone Pros in the next 2-10 years. 🙄

This is a blank canvas for apple to throw stuff against the wall and see what works and what doesn't. They dont have steve jobs anymore to make a lot of those usability decisions, so it will depends on user feedback once in the wild.

Wishlist:
1) Remove the stupid virtual front screen/face, imagine that would reduce the weight/size/price
2) Continue improve the eye/finger click navigation, i think it's a game changer, they just need to refine it to the point it works near 100% of the time
3) Redo the virtual keyboard type, it doesn't work
4) They need to design a single soc chip specifically for the headset, instead of jamming 2 chips into it, to make it more power efficient and reduce size/weight
5) 2x the battery size/capacity, it's a carry battery, who cares, double the capacity and make it twice as thick (probably only 50% thick given the outer shell remain the same). It's ridiculous to have 2-3 hour of battery life, cant even finish a lotr extended movie. Make it at least 5 hours

and most important...

6) Build app/game tailored for the headset, this is a huge missed opportunity - the lack of at launch apps. Where is triple A call of duty game based on the headset? Where is my Supernatural like VR workout for the headset? where are the damn games? - boxing game, pingpong, etc.. With the money pile apple has, they should invested inhouse / third party to just "buy" those apps and make them available or comes installed with the headset. Huge launch fail....hopefully it will get corrected, otherwise it will just die like the old playstation wand

Nope. That's not how it works.

When you are looking at a 4k display, each of your eyes sees a 4k display.

No different to the Vision Pro.

I saw nothing on The Verge review I can’t do on my 500€ quest and that one actually has games and supports YouTube VR
