I sent my S0 SS watch in for repair a month or so back and I was pleasantly surprised they had sent me a S2 SS watch...
I was blown away really and had just purchased a SBSS s3 LTE watch around the same time.

Points for Apple....

What are you guys getting repaired? The 1st gen watches are out of warranty unless you’re talking about the bulging batteries right?

Or are you guys paying for a screen repair?

The detached back cover is now covered under a 3 year warranty

It has been about a year since the last post here. I just sent in my 1st Gen watch because of a separated screen due to bulging battery. I was told it will be replaced. Has anyone had a replacement recently and can tell me what series they were sent back as a replacement? I doubt it will be another 1st Gen.

It likely won’t be a first GEN watch (Being it does not support WatchOS 5), it very well could be a Series one, maybe a Series 2, but likely a Series one is what they will issue you.

Lucky you. I had a 1st gen with the bulging battery problem and Apple customer service denied my repair because it was 3 years and 3 months old. No longer covered.

I had the same problem but then quoted UK consumer law which lasts for 6 years. They escalated it and then agreed to do the repair. Not sure if there is anything similar where you live?

My Stainless Steel first gen was replaced with a stainless steel first gen two weeks ago! Was surprised they still had any.
