But it works fine the vast majority of the time and I'm sure Apple will improve on it further over time. It actually takes people longer to arrive at the correct time on an analog face than for the AW screen to come on.

This may be true for some people but certainly not for me. The on-delay (or, worse, the times it doesn't come on at all for whatever reason) is a UX paper cut that I experience multiple times per day, every day.

Some of the smartwatches that do have always-on actually show a dimmed, crippled face and you still have to wake it up to see the full face, and members here have reported that it's not exactly a good user experience either.

That is actually something I would have to wait and see. Given today's technology, I would expect an Apple Watch always-on face to also be dimmed and crippled. I *think* I would still take it in a heartbeat. What I'd like to see is a minimal always-on face, and then the full face fades in using the exact same detection algorithm they use now.

All will be answered in 24 hours...

I agree completely. My Apple Watch is very good at many things, but telling me the time isn't one of them. I really miss being able to sneak a quick look at the time.

Why do people want always on when they don't constantly look at their watch.
I don't care if it's always on, but I'd like it to be on the exact instant I look at it. Right now, there's a tiny, but noticeable, delay. Yes, it isn't a big deal. But it is a failing, compared to a traditional watch (as is having to do a sort of exaggerated wrist roll sometimes to convince it I'm looking). Cut this delay down to a third of what it is now, and I'll be very pleased with the improvement.

OMG it's thinner!!! Just like EVERYBODY was requesting!
Actually, the Apple Watch is the only Apple product where a little thinner would be a definite improvement. it's fine as it is, but I'd appreciate it more if it were 2-5mm thinner. My iPhone, on the other hand, could have stopped at iPhone 5 thickness and I'd still be happy (pour more battery into any remaining space).
