I think battery life is fine. I want a round version of Apple Watch!
There will never be a round Apple Watch. Get over it. From the OS to Apple's idea of what's correct, nothing conforms with a round display here.

If Apple changes the Apple Watch band size, I will be done with the Apple Watch for good at that moment
They're obviously not changing that, possibly ever, but definitely not for years to come.

Snore... give me blood pressure and glucose monitor. I like my Apple Watch but don't love it. Needs to be more functional. The design is fine for me. The "rounders" on here really love that look. I think the square face is fine. Would like to see more functionality to enhance my phone and other devices experience. Like the Apple Watch unlock. Very spiffy.

But will the watch have call and SMS capability on its own? LTE is different from voice and SMS, is it not? Unless your watch and phone can forward regular calls and texts back and forth to each other over internet? If you can't leave your phone at home, what would be the point of an LTE watch?

Regarding data prices, I don't see more than a $5/mo addon being worth it. How much data could one use on a watch? Assuming you can't tether other devices.

This is awesome, I thought we would have to wait years more for an actually-connected apple watch. I might switch to this from android. then I could get a small tablet when I need to email or text that gets its connectivity from the watch. I hope this is true.

I doubt you'd be able to tether to the watch.

Well we'll soon find out who's "Little Bird" is more accurate. I'm hoping Gruber's.

Last I remembered NOBODY had a photo or the form factor correct at launch of Apple Watch not even know-it-all Kuo.

While just a prediction - it's entirely possible that Apple Watch 3 could be much like the 7s/s+ and a special watch like iPhone X or 8 that has a new form factor and coveted LTE capabilities. ?!

I wear my series 2 everyday...there is only two things I would really care for, even better bluetooth range and smaller bezels. Other than that its a darn good product and the only other changes I would really care for at this time are software related

You have a deeply flawed idea of what this LTE watch is capable of and designed to do.

It's not designed to replace phone functionality. The LTE will be extremely limited in scope. It has to be for battery purposes.

What I don't understand is why the carriers in the U.S. don't allow a second sim card with the same number. I had that in Germany in 1998....and there was no extra charge....

I do think more band options would be good. The traditional leather is pricy but want to get if it comes down in price or Apple releases new Watch I want. As for "faces", they should open it up and let developers develop faces for the Watch.

LTE would be good for if you wanted to leave your phone at home while at the gym but the question is is it worth the $5-10 extra fee? I'd say the majority of the time your phone is going to be on you.

For text. I've got pretty quick at using scribble but for emails I'm pulling out my phone. When at the gym I just keep my phone in my pocket. It would be nice if the iphone and watch could make a secure connection to each other on a wifi network, then you could leave your phone in the locker or car if you park up close in front of the building.

What I most want for Apple to do for the watch is open up the watch face creation.
I don't care about Mickey Mouse or ToyStory faces. At least get some Star Wars faces since SW is part of Disney now.
That kaleidescope feature is kiddie to me. Let's get some more designs. I wish Nike would open the Nike face to anyone too. I like their font and also the layout

I am happy they're giving your the option of using those icons or putting your apps is list mode, I think the list looks cleaner and is what I'll be doing as soon as it's released.

I'm guessing we'll just get LTE this year and they may do a design change next year.

Ok... I don't know much about this time... I was going off what you said Gruber said. Scratch that. Let me start over...

Does Mark Gurman have people feeding him information?

If so... then what is Mark Gurman good at? He's just reporting what other people are telling him, right?

I could do that too. It doesn't require any special skills.

It requires having connections, plus having the trust of the people giving you the information. The average person most certainly does not have those things.

The good news is that the older Series 2 watch will likely get a price drop. If LTE is not your thing, Series 2 is good. And the Series 1 watch will be like the iPad 2. Apple will keep selling the original watch for years and years as their entry level device.

Tee hee. This seems likely. Seriously, those who want LTE connectivity will pay for the service. Those who don't want LTE will get the regular AW3. Those who want LTE but don't want to pay for the service, they'll just have to get the regular AW3 or suck it up and pay for the service. Choice is good thing.

Apple offering 2 years free service...o_O:D
Since I'm on a grandfathered old unlimited plan I wonder if anyone will offer standalone LTE service.

1. Make it round.

2. Third party watch faces.

3. Speed.

And I'll buy a new one.
It's unlikely to be round ever. Apple doesn't want it looking like a "regular" watch. We may get more watch faces, though. For what it does it is fairly speedy. It isn't as there is a lot of room to work with. More likely they will focus on battery life since LTE will use it up more quickly.

so you're saying apple spends billions of dollars of research to miniaturize hardware enough to fit an LTE radio just to sell a couple of thousand that are really going to pay for LTE per month? highly unlikely.

it's more likely they make room in the budget for the cost of free months/years of LTE into the product itself . similar to how Tesla offers free cellular data in their cars.

how often are you away from your phone? maybe 1-3 hours a day. how much data can you really consume on your watch in 3 hours? maybe 10mb? 10mb * 30 days = 300mb a month. tmobile offered free 250mb/month for the tmobile ipad FOR LIFE (i still have it too). it's entirely possible to offer 1-2 years of cellular service for free by either building the cost of the data into the product or making deals with carriers.

How much extra are they going to charge to put cellular (patent) tech in the watch?
It was about $150 AUD to add cellular data to the iPad

From what I read the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 has 30 days of battery for $20... At least for the price of an Apple Watch, give us a slimmer device with longer battery life. I think I'm going to buy a Xiaomi so I can afford the new 1k iPhone

I think the value add lies in processing the information given to you into digestible little chunks.

For example, your sources might only be able to tell you what parts Foxconn has ordered, and each party might be privy onto to a small part of Apple's entire supply chain. The onus is then on you to figure out how Apple may intend to use those parts and what new features they might possible support in the future. To piece together all the tiny jigsaw pieces and see the big picture.

I doubt it's as straightforward as simply regurgitating whatever information is fed to you.
