just curious!,Does the BT 5.3 help in anyway? as i have the 14pm and airpods pro 2nd gen.
Apparently it’s worth it if you have the iPhone 14 - it’s a more stable connection, and obviously newer tech.

Because you have the 14 and APP2 already (which have the Bluetooth 5.3), I’d lean towards the AW8

I went back to my series 7 SBTi from my Ultra. Loved the Ultra screen but it’s size and weight was too much of a penalty to pay so sold the Ultra and very happy with my Series 7. Disappointed that Apple abandoned the Ti series i the 8 line up.

I've currently got the SBTI 7 and just ordered the Ultra. I'm also worried its too big etc

What strap did you use, I've ordered it with a trail loop and in the shop it didnt feel too heavy but did feel big on the wrist.

I have always used the Apple magnetic Leather link bands. I did not like the available Alpine loop and never even mounted it. The Ultra is a nice watch and hope it works out for you. It was just a tiny bit more than what I wanted after wearing the SBTi for the last few years.

I wonder if this is the reason my old AirPods 2 sounds better when connected to my new iPhone 14 Pro. It really surprised me that a 3 years old pods can sound better just because the phone is new.

Goes for S7 to get more bang for your buck but be careful about battery health. Focus on that for purchase. If you go for Apple refurbished you will get a 100% battery health which is ideal but the discount may not be much. On the other hand buying from second hand market will give you good discount but battery health may not be great.
yea ill probably find a first hand apple S7.we shall see...

hmm yea but i kinda like the colours on the S7 like they have a green and blue one which is pretty nice but for the S8 the colours to me imo are kinda basic. im still considering tbh haha, ill probably wait awhile to get the apple watch

I have a trail loop on mine. I found it to be the most comfortable and easy to adjust between that and the Alpine Loop. No experience with the Ocean Band cause it's silicone which I didn't have an interest in. The trail Loop has a softer material than the Alpine Loop for sure. The Alpine Loop is also harder to get on cause it has that clip adjustment. Granted, I may still get the Alpine Loop cause I'm finding the Trail Loop to be a tad itchy, but YMMV.

They’re practically the same watch. I have a S7 41mm gps version but I wanted to try cellular and a bigger screen. My carrier was sold out of the 7 so I got the 8 45mm gps+cellular. The crash detection is an added bonus for me. I’m using my 7 for sleep tracking since it’s smaller and possibly for dressier occasions as I have a leather link I love for that purpose.

They have the same dust resistance. The only differences are the temperature sensor and crash detection.

Temperature sensor
Dust resistance
Crash protection (because of an upgraded gyroscope and accelerometer)
BT 5.3
Silver aluminium
Additional power saving granularity

The S0 - S8 are all practically the same watch if you ignore the differences, but they all have differences.

Can you elaborate on this one?
Is this simply software settings that are only available on the Series 8?

I went from the series 7 to series 8 because I wanted the 45mm versus the smaller screen. Otherwise I would have just kept the series 7. I like them both and have not really seen much a difference (besides the screen of course) between the two watches.

Think carefully. I had the last two product Red AW’s (6 & 7). Loved them both! Sure you can wear any color band with the watch, but realistically the red watch is very limiting in band selections. I have the red braided loop and had the charcoal braided loop (from 2021)….both looked awesome IMO:). I’ve pasted the S6 with the charcoal below. Also the red sport bands look great. I had the series 6 red case. I liked it but was limited in watch bands.

Consider this: I just got a new AW7 in graphite SS for less than a new AW8 in aluminum. That’s an amazing deal, considering the lack of major differences in internals and the upgrade to SS and sapphire screen. Think about that, Amazon and other retailers like Best Buy have more left.

Yeah, it seems odd that Apple could only find a use that benefited at most only 50% of their customers. Considering that a referb Graphite SS 45mm is now $550, I find it super hard to justify the extra $200.
I got it for even less. It’s a no brainer

I actually went ahead and got the S7 and it does feel like a worthy upgrade, I’m happy!
I had an S6 and never even considered the S7. When the S8 came out it was a pretty small upgrade, so that didn’t seem worth it either. But when I saw the prices of old-stock SS7’s with sport bands I saw that as a definite upgrade from my aluminum S6! And for a price below what a S8 aluminum costs (with cellular). And it’s cheaper still because I sold the sport band that it came with so $50 less.

Interesting. I checked and the SS models are in around the $700 mark. Maybe it was a Best Buy local sale?

Dust resistance is the same but yeah you’re right about the rest

I’m a 41mm guy so maybe it’s not this price for the larger one, but here you go: Apple Watch Series 7 [GPS + Cellular 41mm] Smart Watch w/ Graphite Stainless Steel Case https://a.co/d/06nYNHh

Thanks.
The size makes a difference. But the link you sent for $440 is not new but rather in good condition sold by Amazon Warehouse. That said, there is a new one for $519 which is a good deal.
Too bad I’m looking at 45mm.
Cheers.
