That new section of trail looks nice, sure it can be a tad steamy this time of yr. plus if the wind is calm. How was the trail surface, any cushion as it doesn't look like concrete thank goodness.
It is pervious concrete with is still unfortunately about the same hardness but is environmentally friendly since it doesn't produce runoff and doesn't require dedicated drainage or retention. The trail is from 10' to over 50' below city street level and runs by a stream. It is mostly shaded. So you have a perceived temp difference of probably more than <10ºF.

Somerset Park. 72°. —> Arm day.

This is technically a ‘biking trail’, and the bikers tend not to ‘respond’ to well for those who walk on it, but I just flare my arms and shoulders out, they’ll move.:D

Relentess or Julien what do you guys use for watches & do either of you have music on your runs?

Garmin Fenix 3 for 2+ yrs. now & replaced my Airpods in April w/ Beats Pro's which sound much better PLUS they stay in place even w/ heavy sweat & movement. When it cools off in Oct/Nov. will try my AW4 but hard to beat the Garmin's accuracy & features for now.

Use Garmin 620 Apple Watch (of course) and always carry my iPhone (for music, pics, etc). I also have Ultimate Ears UE 11 Pros and go through about 6 BT cables a year.

Unexpectedly had the day off today and decided cardio only/run and to head out of the city. To go out farther on the Silver Commit trail than I ever have ran. So I went west of Atlanta all the way to Dallas (GA:D). Pulled into the parking lot and had a hard time finding a parking space. Ran for 8.

Started wearing Asics when they were known as Tigers 40+ yrs. ago, running outdoors mostly on streets w/ Kayanos for the last 10+ yrs. but moved to Hoka's sev. yrs. ago for the cushioning & they are getting it done.

Slight swerve here Julian/others but started running indoors the first 1-2 miles due to the Aug. heat then adding 2-3 more outside but do folks find their AW accurate, distance wise indoors?

I purchased a pair of the Kayano 26s a few weeks back initially in stealth black, excellent shoe, very well-made with the materials/construction. Ultimately, I did end up returning them, as I felt the ‘gel’ that they use is a little too stiff for my liking (Which Asics is known for a stiffer gel insert), which then I migrated over to ‘Brooks Ascend’ [As pictured above in Post #565], which by far is the _most_ comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn for any type of cardio.

I never was a believer of Brooks shoes before, but you can’t ‘knock the brand’ until you actually give the shoe a fair trial, as it is an amazingly constructed/orthotic and extremely light with a softer gel, but you certainly pay the price for it. ($170 with tax.) You can’t put a price on comfort when it comes to any type of cardio/standing, and certain brands like a Asics and Brooks really execute what they strive for. There’s a reason they’re the best two brands in my opinion on the market right now for a running shoe.

Edit: I found the Asics Gel Venture (As pictured above) to be another great running shoe for an alternative to my Brooks.
