A 6 miler this morning.

IMG_3083.jpg

Which way? This way to Atlanta Rd and relatively flat or…..

IMG_3082.jpg

...this way with lots of hills, plus cross Vinings Mountain.

IMG_3077.jpg

Looks like the hills and running up Overlook Parkway across Vinings Mountain.

A little 7.5 mile run in the sun from my house and got a little dehydrated. Washed/waxed my car this morning and then went for a run. A little too much.

Looks like the sun is already hot.

Cool pic for 2 reasons.

  1. Nice eye and only negative is the overhead wires.
  2. Is that an app that overlays your stats on a pic? Don't recognize the trademark®.

I tried to get closer to eliminate the wires, but then lost the sky. So I compromised and kept the wires. The app is called Strava. I have really just gotten back into running since getting the Watch. I really like the basic Apple workout app, but as of right now doesn't seem to do much. Strava will automatically compare your pace to your previous runs if you often run the same routes. Stuff like that isn't really essential for me, but has been helpful in showing that I am gradually getting a little faster. If you live in a major city where a lot of people use Strava it will let you know how fast you run certain segments compared to other runners. There is an option to upload photos from your run to the app (which can be private or public in the Strava app). Then just export your photo and it will overlay you speed time distance info. You can also export with a GPS map and the overlay, BUT not if you use the Apple workout app. Apple does not give the option to export the GPS info. Sorry for the long explanation. :)

The next 6 pictures are all about the native Red Squirrel (very nervous creature) that I have just managed to capture on camera. Been trying to photograph the squirrels for a long time on my journey up the hills, so my patience has paid off - well pleased.

Was having a CarPlay/Android Auto module replaced in my car Monday and took a short 4.5 mile run around Marietta in the hot muggy sun.
IMG_3160.jpg

Ran by a Tesla Store. I have never had a blue car and think it will be my next color. Also was going to get a Model 3 but wanted a coupe. Was ready to put my deposit down but just don't care for sedans. Still hoping Tesla will make a coupe in the next few years. Just bought an ELR to tide me over and having the CUE (infotainment) updated to CarPlay.

Stopping for a 'shade' break.

IMG_3166.jpg

Roswell St gets wider with better walks. Sun still looks hot.

IMG_3167.jpg

Turn the corner onto Cobb Parkway south and look what happens to the sidewalk.

IMG_3168.jpg

Now it's back.

IMG_3170.jpg

Now it's gone again

I saw the storm coming with the thunder and lightning. So, I just ran a fast (for me) mile.

The moon. The iPhone camera just isn't quite ready for handheld moon photography yet.

Suffering plantar fasciitis and haven't ran in about 3 weeks. However Saturday was the Vinings 5K and usually use it to get my Peachtree 10K time. Needed a 21:51 or better for timed group A but fell flat at 22:47. May try some other races but I may have to settle moving into timed group B after being in A for 12 years.

IMG_3235.jpg

Why is this parking lot so empty? Misread the start time and thought it was moved up.o_O

IMG_3237.jpg

Looks like a small crowd this year for the start.:D

An hour later and closer to start time.

The like is for the photos and not your injury:) get fit soon:)

Pre Eclipse run. GA Welcome Center near SC line. Very muggy and sunny/hot. Even with that and plantar fasciitis it was an almost decent run though I did have to stop in the shade several times.
IMG_3306.jpg
8AM and already several people here for eclipse.

IMG_3307.jpg

Service road behind Welcome Center and start of run.

IMG_3308.jpg

Looking back down the service road.

IMG_3315.jpg

Small country road.

IMG_3316.jpg

On Google Maps this is listed as a county road and wanted to cut through...but....looks like Apple Maps was right.

IMG_3317.jpg

Now have to run about ½ mile down this narrow state 55mph highway. Hope I make it.

IMG_3319.jpg

Down another small country road and the turn around point.

IMG_3327.jpg

People starting to set up everywhere.

Just stumbled upon this thread by coincidence. I live in Smyrna right near here. Nearly all of your Recent posts in this thread are places I see nearly every day!
