Another country run (South side of road from my past picture) today after weight lifting and 200 elevated push up’s. I live in a fairly urban area, not much scenery in my City, so I have to drive to the back roads where there isn’t much traffic.
What city do you live in that you can drive to such a rural setting so easily to run (Midwest)? I think I would have to drive 50 miles to find silos.

There is a lot of traffic in my City with ignorant/reckless drivers that don’t have any care for runners, and I find running out towards the countryside has much less traffic and is more wide-open with scenery. When I run, I don’t listen to any music and I just focus on my running on the roadway, the last thing I need is some driver that’s not paying attention in overcrowded city that could potentially hit me, Which its amazing how quiet and much less traffic there is outside the city limits.

Beautiful day yesterday morning but just a tad cool (42ºF/6ºC). High pressure and cloudless. Not quite ready for a longer run yet so I did 22 minutes of Elliptical at LA Fitness before run. Then a decent but slow 6 miler. First mile was a respectable 7:45 but slowed and stopped a lot (took some pics). Still good to be out running again.

(Rare) April snow moved in yesterday. This was right before the run and the snow just started in this picture, we actually received around 6 inches in the end. During my run, it’s much harder to run in the snow with the added resistance, as it’s like running in the sand. Makes it difficult, but solid run nonetheless.

Very chilly 40ºF/4ºC morning but clear and light winds. Ran around Cumberland and through The Battery. Was a little slow and stoped at 5.5 miles.

Sun is rising earlier and weight training before run.

Prior to the run, again. This snowfall is highly rare for this time of year, especially being in April. I have to say, there is something intriguing and motivating running in the snow, perhaps a different scenery, but I absolutely love it. Most who drive past me look at me with a weird stare on their face, Probably because nobody else is running in temperatures and weather conditions that I do.

Did a 6.25 miler. Was cloudy, damp and a little cool (>50ºF).

IMG_4443.jpg

Raining (misty drizzle) when I got to the gym to do weights.

IMG_4450.jpg

Rain has stopped but cloudy so MUST run.

First trail run since early fall of last year. Finally recovering from plantar fasciitis and was a beautiful day for the trails. Went down to the ‘new’ Park Service parking lot. They cut a new trail from the lot down to the river. Took a LOT of pics.

These are actually really good. Excellent after a heavy weight day.
Yes, the Clif Buliders is a really good protein bar especially for the $s. I keep a few in the freezer fo when I'm out or on the road. However post workout I like to get a quality protein without any 'fillers'. I make a shake only using protein powder, (un-processed0 cocoa powder and stevia.

Was planning on for a run yesterday and today. But since I shoveled over 2 1/2 hours yesterday for an all time record shattering epic snowstorm, and another 16 inches to add today, I won’t be running at all, and all my time will only be invested in shoveling. This is the most wild April weather I have ever seen in my life. I can’t even find my front porch. Complete white out conditions.

Look at the second picture of the snowfall that is literally up to my neighbors window.

Six foot drift along side my house. Literally spent four hours of shoveling and approximately two more to go through tomorrow.

Excellent work out though. (With proper lifting techniques with heavy snow.)

The snow is approximately 4 feet deep from this picture between the two houses.

Went to Atlantic Station’s LA Fitness and did 20 minutes Stair Climber and then went for a run. Ran through midtown and Piedmont Park. Then back up 10th St. Kind of slow but a nice run. Dreary weather but still took a few pics.
