WHY???? Because you read it in some alarmist click bait article. News Flash: All Electromagnetic Radiation (including all light) puts out radiation because it is radiation. This is why it is in the name.

Standards do not always end up protecting the consumer. Most smart phones are worn much closer to the body than the dated (think flip phones worn in holster) standards take into account. Watch this episode of CBC Marketplace: http://www.cbc.ca/marketplace/episodes/2016-2017/the-secret-inside-your-phone.

Apple watch is worn even closer to the body than most smart phones and for longer periods of time. Concerns are justified.

I think it's interesting that folks who say they are sensitive to wifi radiation only complain when they know there is a device nearby.
New cell tower erected. Complaints coming from the people: "Can't sleep anymore", "am constantly nervous since", "having constant headaches now" ...

Comment from the provider: "How bad will it become once we actually put that thing into operation?!"

Hypochondriacs. WHO is one of the few organizations who have even batted an eye because they're obligated, but I feel strongly in saying this condition doesn't exist and if it does, it's often within centralized groups of people and can be explained better by sociology & psychology than the effects of some mysterious, scientifically unprovable, or even observable reaction.

That being said, if true, the actual prevalence of this condition is so extremely limited its not worth bringing up as a counter point to justify the OP. People with connected wearable devices today (and there's a few million or so out there now) have no problem, as evidence. There's more issues with allergic reaction, which is a real condition to be concerned about.
[doublepost=1505489093][/doublepost]So just a quick note to those who call people with sensitivity hypochondriac and other "names".

There are many diseases today that are accepted diseases but going back 30 or more years doctors and ignorant judgmental indivuduals would tell people "it is just in your head"!!!

Chronic fatigue syndrom is one of them.

So unless you have 50 or more years of data from all sources compiled I suggest you keep your ignorant opinions to yourself.

And on the comment that of our government knew it is a healt hazadr it would not allow for it.
Are you kidding me?

Our government approves daily the use of pesticides and chemicals that have been banned in Europe and Canada for over 20 years because it is extremely toxic and is a carcinogenic.

Opinions are great but do not rule out the healh hazard of our electronic devices because there is simply not enough data.

I find it odd that apple THEMSELVES tell people not to hold the phone directly next to their head (read the T&C's), and now we're going to put in on our wrist for likely 23+ hours a day?

So many threads about this. It's a legitimate concern and I'm surprised Apple doesn't even try to reassure people.

For a product that monitors health, it's a bit ironic. :D

The radiation our phones put out is non-ionizing radiation. I'm 99.9999% sure the government wouldn't allow a device that is supposed to be worn on your wrist to output ionizing radiation.

I'd also like to add this link to cancer.gov: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/causes-prevention/risk-factors/radiation/cell-phones-fact-sheet

it's all good." The US Gov't allows many toxic chemicals into foods and other products. I see patients all the time for over exposure of "gov't approved" sources that are making them sick.

When I put the Apple iwatch on, I get a headache within about 15 minutes. When I take it off, the headache goes away. Something it is emitting is not good for my body. Any symptom you have is your body telling you something is not right. Listen to your body.

This makes no sense. The Watch gives you a headache? Maybe wrist discomfort, or tingling fingers (or not :D).
But this is certainly in your mind (not 'almost certainly' either)

The symptom you describe is stress that manifests as a headache (tension headache). tension headaches are musculature. It's often hard to tell the difference between vascular and musculature headaches. An easy way to tell is to massage your head and neck. Soreness indicates if it's stress related.

Also (i'm on a roll, sorry :D ), stress related tension headaches, happen very easily and quickly, and can vanish just as quick.

Mostly common knowledge

All I know is that I was down on the farm yesterday, feeding the hens while wearing my LTE Apple Watch. And darned if the thing didn't lay a hard boiled egg!

We all know we should keep our phones a certain distance from our bodies due to the radiation from WiFi, Bluetooth, and Cellular network connectivity.

Anyone have any idea regarding how high the SAR would be on the Apple Watch? And whether there should be any concern over the health risks of having such a device on your wrist almost all the time?

read this article by Electromagnetic Radiation Safety

this youtube video shows the actual amount when some one tested it

this video talks about World Health Org warning and how to protect exposure

I value these conversations.

While I do appreciate our government trying to protect us, it is no where near a system where the consumer can assume they will be safe because the government says so. Some examples of this are radium of the past and fluoride in use today. In the past radium was used in makeup, watch dials, etc. Now there are radiation specialists going around to make sure homes were not built on on a site that made these products and if there are, they are testing the soil and doing bio testing on people based on the exposure number. Fluoride has its own debate going with the cosmetic implications of it being in some peoples water supply, yet fluoride is still considers safe because overall it is good for the majority of people.

Now, of course the above is just an example of government and not the same as what we know about rf and extreme low frequencies given off by electronics at this moment in time.

For your specific experience, could it be a reaction your body is having? Yes. I think our bodies are all different and as you said we have to listen to them. For example, when my wife talks in her cell for more than 15 minutes her inner ear feels weird. Mine doesn’t, but hers does therefore she decides to use the speaker phone. Personally, I think it is not in her head and she is being impacted in some way. And for me, while I don’t have reactions to technology, I make sure my cellphone is not up against my head when I sleep.

Here's what I gather, 2 concerns really.

1) radiation that is long term cancer risk (rule this out)
2) radiation that is short term ( cooking you with microwaves).

So this comes down to power. The upside to this, is that almost everyone would notice discomfort. If you think you're 'sensitive' to it, you have other problems.

You would have redness at a minimum after a short while. Since all humans have similar construction, you can pretty much rule this out also :D

The delusion, is that it's deep penetrating. I personally have thought about the risk of blood clots. But the surface capillaries would be a very convincing indicator of blood problems. So redness would tip you off (before you drop dead...or worse )

It's also true I think, those comments: "The patch under the watch is the most protected part of your body". Clothes are sieves. (Maybe leather boots with steel toes, rings, large belt buckles? :D )
