I've tried a complete reset of the watch, wipe and re-pair. I haven't tried to the network idea...I'll give that a shot. I have it on this morning. It's been 2 hours and I'm sitting at 71% left. Losing 29% is 2 hours is not good. Not a single notification yet, all tracking turned off, etc.

You need to do that on the PHONE not the watch.

I should retract my previous statement. THe battery is now draining pretty quick. But not sure if that is due to having AAirpods now? But have not interacted with them on my watch at all today. Its only 1pm and I woke up at 7am with 98 percent battery and now I am sitting at 70 percent. Strange.

Series 2 Nike watch running 3.1.3

Always do a hard reset after a update, much easier than re pairing and most of the time it is all that is needed.

Out of curiosity, how do you know that a hard reset is necessary? More specifically, does Apple recommend your theory?

Just from beta testing, and speaking with other testers. Not official Apple. But if fixes the problem for many. I just automatically do it now and show no change in battery after update. I did forget once, on previous beta and had drain then did it and it was corrected. A better option as un pairing is a pain if you use Apple Pay on watch, so worth a try first. So just would hard reset, then reset network settings if that does not work, un pair, re pair then if not successful go to a store maybe then hardware. Saves time.

I'm having the battery drain issue as well. I have just erased all and set up my watch as new so let's see what happens now.

Thanks. I hadn't heard of completing a hard after an update. Something to remember in the future if need be.

Erase network settings on the phone.

Then erase all settings.

You will have to put your settings back in on the phone. But this has fixed it twice for me, both times after a watchOS update

Just thought I would reshare this post ;)

My battery is still bad. Did reset all settings and network. Unpaired and paired my watch. Still the same thing. I am on 3.2 beta 2.

I have series 0 and I am not sure if it is the battery itself or the software upgrade. I work out about 2 hours a day every day and up to a month or so ago, the battery used to last all day (I get up at 5:30 am and charge my phone before going to bed around 11 pm). Lately, when I come home around 6 pm, the watch is 10% and I have to find the charger. Yesterday morning, about 5 minutes after I put my watch on (fully charged), the battery says 95%.

Has anyone gone to Apple and have their watch battery replaced under AppleCare? I have been closing the rings every day for almost 600 days and I cannot miss a day. Any suggestions would help.

What I would do first, is go to an Apple store and have them run a battery diagnostic on the Apple Watch or they can offer a diagnostic over the Phone via connected Bluetooth from iPhone if you don't have a store in your area. It's free and then they can direct you from there if there's something that needs to be repaired or replaced for a future Genius appointment.

I don't mean to derail the thread, but what kind of workout do you do on a daily basis? I also workout approximately an hour and a half to two hours a day, every day, just curious what you do for a routine?

What is reasonable battery usage in a day? I just bought a series one from eBay and it's still under AppleCare warranty till September so I was just curious what I should expect out of the battery.

I charged it up to 100% before I paired to my phone last night. I messed with it a good bit and it was down to 84% before I went to bed but I didn't want to put it on the charger and leave it on all night when it only needed to charge 16%.

I put it on about 7:30 this morning with 84% battery and right now it is 6 o'clock and I have 24% left.

I don't feel like I have used it a whole bunch, but I have some items in the dock which I'm assuming means they run in the background.

So is this pretty reasonable? I guess if it would've been 100% at 7:30 this morning I'd be looking at somewhere around 40% 11 hours later. Is that reasonable?

All reasonable and expected...but the quoted 18 hour-life comes in when you use the watch to exercise...exercising with watch is what drains the battery the most.

Do the apps running in the dock drain it? I surely don't need to keep all those open all the time. I do plan to start exercising; that's why I bought another Apple Watch.

here's my experience, Series 0 running the 3.2beta, off the charger at 6am today, exactly now 12 hours later its at 78%. heart rate is off, raise to wake off, haptic feedback is on, calls mirrored from phone is on (had about 30 incoming calls today), about 20 incoming iMessage's.

this is my daily battery usage (always running the 3.2 beta), i'm happy, though tbh i wish i could charge it overnight on the end of the 2nd day rather than every night

i have friends with Series 2 & i have better battery life than some of them...

You can close the pending applications in the dock if you so choose. Some applications (Third party) can greatly reduce the battery life, depending if you have any.

I am still struggling with this also. I have 2 AW series 2 (SS and Nike ) and both are not quite right. I have done the reset Network settings on my phone and the Nike I have erased and set up as a new watch. I am doing the SS now. It did not help the Nike. I put it on at 8:00 this morning and was down to 84% by 2:00pm today. In the past (prior to the update) It would have been 1/2 that but certainly 90%+. I was seeing slightly over 1% loss per hour and now it is over 2%. At this point I think it must be an app? I am going to not install any apps on the SS model and then add them (painfully) one by one per day or so till I find it.

Sound like you completed the measures to clear most of the issues with a re-pair and setting up as new. I would focus on uninstalling an third party applications, which could be an issue. And I'm assuming you're currently up to date on OS updates if you haven't already.

On a side note, Series 2 seems to be experiencing the most issues with the latest update.

Well today I put it on between 7:30 and 8 a.m. It's 7:47 p.m. and I have 59% left. I'm pretty pleased with that. I didn't use it a ton, but that gives me a good bit of room to work with if I were to do a workout or something. I did still have a few things running on it all day.
