Some of us have 'tree trunks' for wrists. No normal watch strap comes anywhere near being long enough for mine. Not being able to change the strap is a certain 'No Thanks' from me.
You were great in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Rushing a product to market with problems or holding off and getting it right is something that distinguishes the CEO's Tim Cook and Steve Jobs respectively.
1 day is just to short for a watch. Better add a wind up feature![]()
Having a watch that works for more than a day at a time. Unreasonable, isn't it?
Honestly I really thought Apple were going to do this.
The strap is such a wasted space, it's crying out for the strap to be the battery, there is so much of it.
I suspect this will come in time as it's just a dead area that could be used so well.
The bracelet watches many were hoping for of course are able to consider using the whole of the device for the battery and electronics. Not just the box under the screen area.
Battery life is not the biggest problem I see with the Apple Watch.
The biggest issue is the fact that, for most functions, it must be tethered to your iPhone to work. Whats the point of being able to use Maps, Messages, etc when you could just pull your phone out of your pocket and get a better experience on a bigger screen? It has no GPS chip so you can't even use it to track your hiking/running route like most GPS watches.
I agree that many folks have unreasonable expectations for some kind of wearable watch...but you also should understand there are/were plenty of forum members/fanatics here that bashed Samsung, LG, Motorola for releasing smart watches with batteries that only last a day.
I do not get all the consternation about this. Do you people never sleep? Do you not have a plug next to your bed? Would you sleep with your watch on? I wouldn't. Seems to me, you go to bed plug in your watch (and your phone) and ta-da wake up the next morning with a full on charged watch and phone.
Rinse and repeat..
What am I missing here. Is everyone on Macrumors only sleeping every 24 hours or something?
I wonder how much a extra magnet charger is? That way you could have one in the car or at the office to charge.
No kidding. I saw a comment in another thread saying "what happened to the flexible screen?!?!" People have their expectations and dreams sky high and then are disappointed when Apple doesn't invent a flying pony or something.
I don't know why people are so set on it lasting more than a day. I go to bed, I charge my iPhone, if I was going to buy an iWatch I'd do the same thing. Not so difficult. Now, the worries about just what 'a day' actually means in RL, I understand.
Bet you it gets thinner before they increase the battery life on it.

Expected. They can't do any better. Hell, even my pebble dies by around 11 PM (I do have a moving watch face though). So it's impressive this color display will last a full day. Maybe it's because it's only activated when you hold it up. Also, it can work offline, just some features won't be available.

It's intriguing but I can't say I'm a fan of the appearance this time around. I look forward to what comes in the future, including the battery life.

What happened to THINK DIFFERENT?
beats, and now this...
You just said it.
The watch's purpose is so that you can do those things - and in particular, respond to alerts - by just glancing at your wrist instead of rummaging through your pockets or purse to pull out your phone.
It's up to you whether that is worth $349 or not. From where I sit, for me, it is not. But opinions are like a** holes: everybody has one and they usually stink.
