NachoGrande, a couple of things...
.). Your post is a humble brag because you got it for free
.). There are what, 2 dozen posts already with nearly identical points, you chose to start yet another thread.
.). You didn't disclose you were a "watch person" till well into the thread.
.). You're choosing to keep something you don't like with the shelf life of a head of lettuce, and complain about it in an enthusiast's forum, rather than just listing it on eBay, selling it on Craigslist or even just giving it to someone who'd appreciate it and actually use it.
.). What do you think the landscape for mech watches will be in 1, 2, 5, 10 years? The quartz watch nearly killed the whole industry once, I don't think it will survive in its current form. I think you're bitching about that new horseless carriage, while clinging desperately onto your buggy whip, and holding a can of axle grease in the other hand. Wristwatches killed the pocket watch, smart watches are going to kill the wristwatch. In 10 years, I fully expect to be wearing a self contained smartphone that works well on my wrist, the phone already seriously gave the watch business a kick in the solar plexus over the last few years.
.). I hope you're into steampunk, or hang with billionaires who have "people" to answer their phone or emails and texts, cuz I gotta tell you, that's who's going to be wearing mech watches.
