I guess the X-Men will be looking elsewhere for smart watches.

Excellent work... how's that whole cure for cancer thing coming along?

Might I reccomend CancerCureRumors.com?

Has anyone else noticed the amount of real rumors has significantly decreased over the last 6 months? I wonder if Apple is doing a much better job of keeping things hidden?

While everyone here was laughing, Tim went and actually doubled down on secrecy.

I'll tell you what's worse.

Shops and individuals throwing food in the bins, when there are hungry people probably in the same area.

Hungry people, when others are throwing it away, is vastly worse than messing around with a unimportant gadget/toy.

Right...people complain about waiting for an Apple Watch like it's a life and death situation and it's a crime of humanity. It's a gadget. If you don't want to be in the waiting camp, wake up earlier and be faster next time. If someone was able to secure an Apple Watch by buying it earlier, they can do the hell whatever they want with it.

I think i would be more concerned with what my arm would look like after being subjected to all this, not the watch.

I just don't get this stuff. Calling it a 'test' is stupid. The whole thing is stupid. Putting aside for a minute the people who who love to have the stuff you're destroying for no reason, this also represents a shameful wasting of materials, many of them rare. It's amazing how far we've fallen in just a generation or two.

In addition to being a waste I'm also annoyed by the repeated misuse of the word "shell" in this article.

Pointless Conspicuous Consumption - e.g., Waste

Pointless Conspicuous Consumption - e.g., Waste

It is a shame that some people have so little to do, so much excess money and such destructive tendencies.

Right "tests" haha

More like, lets destroy the latest gadget to get views.

I'm just waiting for North Korea to detonate one of their nukes on one. The youtube revenue from that would solve their economic woes in one stroke.. After that the only way to top it would be to launch one directly into the Sun

Maybe Apple should do a 2 minute compilation of their own each time they launch a product (and cut out Youtube and the middle men) - blast burn stomp scratch blend drop squash freeze and incinerate :)

ok, wouldn't your hand just burn off if your watch accidentally got into a liquid nitrogen bath????? And REALLY a mallet to brake it?

Too many people conduct the most wasteful testing.

The money wasted could have been donated to help those suffering from the Nepal earthquake!

Idiots!!!

That bit about the sapphire glass being more vulnerable to drops than the Ion-strengthened glass is interesting. Most people are not going to drop their watch, as it's secured to their wrist. Many people do drop their phones. If sapphire glass is more brittle and susceptible to breaking than the Ion-strengthened glass or Gorilla Glass, I don't see any chance that Apple would ever use sapphire to cover the LCD of the iPhone.

In America, if you give leftovers to the hungry people and they get sick (from pretty much anything), they will sue your business and the legal costs alone will put you on the street looking for food in the bin.

Here is an example from a few years ago where one stay tried to change that: http://www.telegram.com/article/20120107/NEWS/101079930

Certainly ridiculous that a law like this is even needed.

Please BI*CH

Please stop with the new apple product destroying until we all have received our watches. Taking way too long to receive and to see how "Creative" one can be is annoying.

The "Will it blend?" guy is best.

At least he's original, humorous and honest (there's no hiding the fact he's only doing it to sell blenders)

The rest are a bunch of easy-money jackasses, not worth a click!

These so-called tests say more about Ryan than they say about the :apple: Watch. I'm just wondering which high school science teacher gave him a bad grade.

It gives me great pain to say that the quality of MacRumors has really plummeted over the past 6 months or so.

I have been reading this blog for years but the recent wave of low quality clickbait "how to" articles and junk like this just makes me sad.

What exactly is "impressive" about a 50 Cal bullet slicing the watch in half? Was anyone expecting something else to happen?

Please, that guy probably makes more money from youtube ad revenue nowadays than he does selling blenders. Which is fine by me because he's honestly entertaining.

For these tests to be anyway valid and worthwhile (as a true in the field test) the guy should be wearing it....

I've got that scene from "The Jackal" (Bruce Willis version) where he tests a new gun on Jack Black holding up a cigarette packet in my head now!
