Ohh..... no no no no...........

I hope these guys really like themselves for torturing this thing to death...

Again, not in any way real life situations, and definitely call it just stupidity that anyone would ever wanna do this in the work area...

Just for fun...... maybe,,,, but since it is, i have noticed no one is doing this to a 17,000 Gold one..... Laugh at that one.

I wish they would do the same kind of explotion tests for cars ......... Personally with them in it...

While there's no real ... reason for these tests.

I applaud anyone who blows **** up for us for entertainments sake :D

Stupid, stupid, stupid

I do not understand why MacRumors, an online news source I used to respect unconditionally, gave this guy's stupid stunts air time, so to speak, on your website. You gave attention to someone who is performing usless stunts, not tests as you falsely state. Who ever made the decision to air this crap should at least be suspended and docked some pay and MacRumors should imediately remove the crap from your website. Leave it to the trash dump called YouTube. You should be ashamed of yourselves for publishing this.

was liquid nitrogen necessary if you're going to smash it with a sledgehammer? lulz

also, i agree with others saying these clickbait articles are stupid, even for MR "editors"

so have all these test been done on android devices or is this just a new apple product smash test click bate for money video

How'd he get TWO watches?! What a waste... I cry... I cry...

The liquid nitrogen was just overkill since the sledge hammer would have been sufficient in destroying the watch with one blow.

Good to know that if I'm ever flying on Hindenburg 2 and it once again goes down in a blaze of hydrogen glory, my Apple Watch might survive

You know what's worst? People like you. Haters.

1) You probably are one of those people that throws food away in front of hungry people.

2) You are probably the person that orders 12 big macs, eats 2, and throws the rest away outside in front of a homeless person.

3) You are hater which defines you as a person and as your character.

Maybe keep your personal attacks to yourself and not post anything?

Exactly who was he attacking? The poster was making a generalized statement of "people" and "stores" - the only one making personal attacks here is you, since you are singling him out by using the word "you". ???

I want to see someone put the watch on their wrist and then submerge it in liquid nitrogen. Only really world testing is useful.

I guess probably, because when they ruin it, they won't be up the creek without a paddle. Not much money lost.

This is so stupid, I'm not even going to watch it.
You know, the C/Net girl in the kitchen video I stuck up for, because those things could happen to the watch, but I doubt that the liquid N2 immersion or hydrogen explosions will happen to more than 0.0001% of the population.

I'm with you... see above.

Idiots will always be idiots. BUT why is MR lowering themselves to post this crap on front page? Shocking behaviour :(

This is stupid. I'm sure all of the people waiting for months to get their Apple Watch will really love seeing videos of an Apple Watch getting destroyed for no good reason. I only care about its durability under real world circumstances, not some dumb ass concocted situation. #FAIL

I am sure some of the Nepal disaster committees could make use of the $1000 its worth.

Not worth $1000. Get your facts straight;

Highest end aluminum watch is $399.

Also, I would MUCH rather see these tests done with the stainless steel watch as the results may be much different.

This is absolutely pointless. None of these tests do anything to prove the durability of the apple watch, other than senselessly destroying them. Like other people have already said, there are some genuinely waiting to get their hands on a watch and to enjoy them, whilst this guy destroys his to probably make money on youtube. Also consider the environmental impact of what he is doing, it takes valuable energy and resources to build these devices, why do we need dozens of videos on youtube showing how to destroy them?

These vids aren't pointless because they're making much more money through YouTube clicks and whatever they might sell, than a few Watches are worth. I don't like calling these "tests" though, it's just clickbait and I wish MacRumors wouldn't give them free advertising.

The video I want to see is of him taking the watch that was shot with a 50 cal bullet in for AppleCare+ replacement.

He'll be refused. Malicious destruction is ineligible even with Apple Care Plus. Just like third party mods etc are

Yeah, I'm still waiting on mine, so I'm not all that interested in seeing someone go to all the trouble of getting their hands on one, just to destroy it pointlessly.

Boyfriend was on duty during the first iPad launch and recently related a similar tale. guy comes in to buy an iPad. BF is not the one helping him but was nearby and overhears the guy saying he's a blogger and youtube 'star'. gives out his channel name so they can check him out.

Day or two later he's back saying his iPad is defective and he wants to exchange it. he's got it in the box etc, all ready to go. But BF and the original sales girl recognize him cause yeah they went youtube. where they saw him shooting etc his iPad. They open the box and its mangled to hell. They refuse to take it back and basically dare him to ask to speak to a manager. Then he tries to buy another one but they told him they were sold out. which by the by they weren't but they weren't about to sell him one to possibly be destroyed. word got around the staff who he was and every day for like a month they were sold out even if they weren't.

Youtube didn't exist in 2002 (started in 2005, probably not really relevant until 2006) during the first Ipod launch.
