Someone send one to Iran and let them perform a nuclear test on it. I think that's the only thing left to make sure that it can withstand the Second Coming.

The resulting destruction is easily one of the most impressive, the cheaper Apple Watch getting cut nearly clean in half by the massive bullet shell.

Let's ponder the meaning of "shell" shall we?

If a bullet shell can cut one of these clean in half then it has a weak build indeed!

Do these guys take requests? I like to suggest they see if the AW will survive an overnight at Chernobyl worn by them bare armed. In the name of "science" of course because who know what will happen to an AW subjected to nuclear fall out. and yes /sarc.

Being in the military, if my arm is struck by a .50 cal round, I think I have more issues than just "will my watch survive".

Destroying technology by means that do not matter are just ridiculous click-bait. It is getting out of hand. Don't get me wrong, some of these videos are justified. But if they are not scientific, or put in scenarios that do not matter, then they are useless.

You know what's worst? People like you. Haters.

1) You probably are one of those people that throws food away in front of hungry people.

2) You are probably the person that orders 12 big macs, eats 2, and throws the rest away outside in front of a homeless person.

3) You are hater which defines you as a person and as your character.

Maybe keep your personal attacks to yourself and not post anything?

Oh how wrong you are and how much you don't know me.
What I do, in my own free time for charity work, and how I was brought up a a child NEVER to throw food away unless you absolutely have to.

It's actually the one thing I hate when I go visiting friends, or stay at other places, when I see how they leave food on their plates as they have cooked and served up to much, and how much of it goes into the bin.

I was never brought up that way. I place a high value on food, This may seem strange, but it feels criminal to throw food away to me. I know how much I want to eat, I cook that, and I eat it all.

I know this sounds odd to some, but it's the way I was raised as I say.

In America, if you give leftovers to the hungry people and they get sick (from pretty much anything), they will sue your business and the legal costs alone will put you on the street looking for food in the bin.

Here is an example from a few years ago where one stay tried to change that: http://www.telegram.com/article/20120107/NEWS/101079930

Certainly ridiculous that a law like this is even needed.

Oh, I'm sure this is true in the UK also.
I went to buy some packet soup a while ago, and got told I could not buy it, as it was just out of date, and had to be binned. (dry dust gone out of date!)

What hurts me the most seeing is the stores and make sandwiches, rolls, and cakes ect in the mornings, and at the end of the day, what's not bought is dumped in the bins around the back of the store.

Of course, there would be BIG trouble if you started taking food from these bins, as I know some do/try to do.

Why they cannot get into contact with local homeless/rescue centers, and arrange to take any unsold food there, I do not know :(

Of course, if it's rotten, moldy etc etc, then it should be binned and then it goes towards animal feed, but they throw away perfect food.

Or food just past it's best before (not use by) date, which means it may technically be less that 100% perfect in flavor in some undetectable way, but still fine to eat.

This some super dumb stuff.
They want real clicks, they should advertise that these test are done while on someone's wrist.

If you had values and raised as you say you would know not to post such an offensive insult to someone you don't know.

I'm unaware of what the hell you are talking about.

I posted "such an offensive insult" to who?

Unless you have mixed my posting up with someone else, or perhaps English is not your 1st language and you did not accurately understand what I wrote.

All I wrote is that I find people and shops throwing food away, when they are hungry people far more upsetting that a few people breaking an electronic gadget.

I fail to see how that is offensive, I would hope anyone decent would agree with me.

all these tests do is make me think of American waste and first-world ignorance.

over the top statement, i know, but i just don't see the point of these. shoot something with a bullet or use liquid nitrogen on it and what the hell does anyone expect? it's kinda akin to rubbernecking on the highway. kinda. i hate samsung as a company, but i'd feel no glee in watchting a brand new galaxy get destroyed. disclaimer, i'm also american. maybe a fussy one at this moment in the AM, but anyway..

I'm so sick of these videos, hundreds of dollars spent on apple watches just for them to be trashed. I understand pressure/scratch tests, but that woman that dropped a skillet on it or some idiot with a blender is just ****** wasteful.

All the energy and effort that goes into making them just for them to be destroyed. Next time just give the $400 to a charity and say "were probably sure it'll break if we drive over it but it won't scratch with a kitchen grater"

Had it been on his wrist, the watch held up much better than human flesh likely would have.

I personally feel press and other media should refrain from publishing such worthless test videos. They aren't providing the community with a service, and instead, provides them with link traffic to fund future meaningless distruction of technology.

Stupid people are doing things like buying watches just to destroy... meanwhile others are desperately waiting to get theirs who actually will use them

These kinda tests will come in handy for when I encounter these kind of things in everyday to day use.

You want clicks? Do these things!

1.) Take the Apple Watches, you were going to destroy, and auction them off, sending money to victims of whatever recent disaster group is most in need. … Today that might be Nepal.

2.) Take the Apple Watches and make videos of the humans given the watchs, like the old Millionaire TV series. I am sure I would find watching a normal unsuspecting human, getting, receiving, and playing with a surprise gift a lot more entertaining than a smashed watch.

A.) Use your brains and do something useful with the benefits you get in life. The ability to get a watch in the first place is cool. Share the coolness. Share the watches, in a creative way.

I understand and support real-world testing, like scratching, and submerging in water. But these are just gratuitous destruction - a sort of technology snuff film.

Oh now this just did it for me!!! I was really excited about getting this new device, looking forward to having one this summer!!! But now that I know I can't blow my watch up and still use it, deal breaker for sure!!!
