So are there preorders or not? And if so, will the demand exceed that of iphone?
The title of this piece should have mentioned this is only the case for the launch.
We are witnessing Apple's most creative spin of a launch ever. They've never been in a better position. Customers salivating, a wide variety of rumors, developers complaining they're having problems with apps due to restricted (read none) access to the watch...
I've never had so much fun during a launch. Especially without risk since I have zero interest in being a man in the street tester...ha...ha...ha...
I can't imagine what it's like for those who are actually attracted to this world changing watch... A thrill a minute.
Risk and total uncertainty is all yours.![]()
There is nothing worse than going in store and being told you then have to go online to arrange to come back in store - really getting fed up of the Apple Store experience, which I used to rate so highly.
Translation: We at Apple know that the Apple Watch isn't going to be a big seller and/or already is a failure of a product and we don't want excess inventory sitting in stores or want to pay the cost of shipping it to our stores where it will just sit in the back collecting dust.
Basically this is a covert way of forcing all early store purchases to be preorders.
Otherwise it just sounds like Apple is being pretentious on an obnoxious scale.
I wonder if they are going to have pre-reservation for the April 10 try-on. Or are we going to have lines just to try-on the watch to pre-order the watch.
So are there preorders or not? And if so, will the demand exceed that of iphone?
I don't think you have to go in to pre-order. Buying is limited to online w/ in-store pickup as an option.
You should gift someone a diamond necklace. This will teach you about its utility.
LOL, so true.
The title should be: Apple Watch for Sale in Retail Stores by Reservation Only at Launch
Too many people just read the headlines and ignore the articles.
Here is the bit of articles that people conveniently ignore:
According to leaked Apple documentation, the company will not be selling the Apple Watch to walk-in customers at launch.
Apple will begin offering online pre-sales of the Apple Watch starting on April 10th, with the first deliveries occurring on April 24th
However, according to training documents that MacRumors has received, Apple is not allowing any walk-in retail purchases for the Apple Watch at launch.
LMAO- best post of the week.
Really? A bunch of "sales" people not paid on commission don't give a crap about which watch you buy.
The fact that you had to write that screed at all shows how totally botched this launch is. It's far too complicated.
Walmart makes buying easier.![]()
LOL you missed my point.
I wonder how much of this is Angela Ahrendts influence.
I hope they do this for every product launch. Would help curb all the scalpers.
Otherwise it just sounds like Apple is being pretentious on an obnoxious scale.
Of course you like Apple's way better. That's what they're allowing you to have, and so you love it.
This is a HORRIBLE way to sell a product. I don't want to make an appointment to go in and get pressured into buying something. I want to walk in, try on what I want, and buy or not buy without any pressure.
In fact, I did this just today, with a Panerai. Luckily they don't require an online reservation process for an appt, else I wouldn't have bothered.
This whole thing is annoying me for some reason and makes me not want to buy the thing.
Apple needs to come out before the 10 and give exact details on how to make these appointments so that I can pre-order/make an appointment. I don't see why I need to wait till Friday at the crack of dawn to make an appointment. I rather just set my appointment now and be done with it and show up when my time is.
I know apple employees are going to be rushing us to make up our minds on which watch to purchase.
I will be skipping Apple Watch, just as I have skipped Android Wear. I am deeply entrenched into both ecosystems, so I will stick with Pebble because they are platform agnostic. I am looking forward to Pebble Time.
