I'd love one but £50 for a bit of plastic...
If they were realistically priced at £19.99 or something I'd buy a whole bunch.

The sport band used to cost £39 when they first launched!!
When the VAT went up in the UK, they increased it to £49

"The sport band is £39 in a variety of colours, the stainless steel milanese loop is £129 and the link bracelet costs £379 – more than the Apple Watch Sport."

Ok, can we talk about why the lines of the Pride band are not straight??? Not very Apple like...

I noticed it too but found out it’s on purpose. There’s a description beneath it explaining.

“The Pride Edition Sport Band is assembled by hand from individual strips of colored fluoroelastomer. The strips are then machine die-cut and compression molded together. This process results in subtle variations in the wavy rainbow design, making each band artfully unique.”

Ordered the Nike one and paid for fast delivery as said delivery on Wednesday, get the email from processing and says delivery from 28may to June 4, hope they refund the cost for priority

If there is one thing I have learned with Apple, it is not to pay for priority. I feel like the standard shipping is basically priority.

Virtually nothing on apple's website is an actual photograph, they are all 3d renders, so I'd have a hard time believing that those lines will be in the final product.
Nope, they’ve actually shown the process before. They’re actual photos, but taken under very elaborately controlled conditions.

The last UK VAT increase was in January 2011...

Yes but they were £39!

Sure, but the price change had nothing to do with a change in VAT.

Yooo that Nike band is nice! I’m an ally, wouldn’t mind picking it up. It could also pass off being a 80’s throwback to Epcot band.

I hope the colors don't wear off. I'm a biker, and have purchased some of the RoadID special bands, but the colors always rub off, making them just a basic band. I've stopped supporting them because of the poor quality, plus I have enough bands to last 10 years.

The Nike one is pretty cool, but why not a 'dark edition', with the same colored holes? I'd buy that in a New York minute.

That's because of the UK pound £ is now in 2020 weaker vs the US dollar $ back in 2015, apple adds an extra 10% 'insurance margin' so they will not get stung if the Pound further weakens(funny how they are super slow reduce the prices when the US dollar is weaker vs the Pound....) Also you needs to add the extortionate 20% sales tax in UK which is the UK governments problem, apple has no control over this.

If you add all of that together it costs around the same as the US which does not include sales tax because that is a state level variable add on cost.

This is why you see a 1:1 price conversion from US dollar and UK Pound (base macbook air is $999 and £999 for example)when a few years ago it was around 80-95% of US pricing

It's kinda amazing how they keep coming up with all those pride bands. I mean, how much is enough?

I see there are currently 8 Nike bands for sale, including this new one. Just curious if you can share an example or two that have been discontinued?
