LOL this watch looks like a total joke and after watching how the interface works, it makes me laugh even more. I cant believe anyone would actually buy this over priced piece of junk that does nothing interesting. People will quickly regret their decision of buying this product.

Or not - Cognitive dissonance is an amazing thing.

You have no idea how wrong you are. This is going to sell.

I have a TON of Apple products in my home.
The Apple watch has zero appeal for me, but I did notice a little article on the Neptune Duo that reverses the thinking that Apple has used, where the wearable is the device and you have an optional larger screen for when the screen on the wearable is too small. You don't need to even have the screen if you don't want to tote it around.
Personally, that is how I had hoped the Apple watch would be. It's disappointing because like millions I had stopped wearing watches because I use the iPhone as my timepiece. The watch basically would change nothing.

Since Youtube supports 60fps, what is so god damn hard about these tech journalists filming in 60fps so that we can see how smooth or not smooth the Apple Watch UI really is??

I keep my iPhone on the desk to avoid radiation.

I don't need to be "notified" as soon as someone texts me while working, I reply when I feel like it.

I don't want another device that requires daily charging.

Don't like to wear watch everyday anyways, and Apple Watch does not change anything.

18 hours of usage is not good enough and 2.5 hours of charging to full for a small watch battery is taking way too long.

PASS.

So, Apple Pay isn't as easy as they made it look at the keynote. He just swiped his arm in front of the terminal and it beeped. They didn't show him going to his iPhone, opening the app, selecting Apple Pay, then swiping his watch. In all of that time on the phone, you could have just swiped it instead of the watch. As much as I like the Apple Watch, this is the kind of thing that makes it seem useless. Most of what it does is duplicate what the phone does but on a smaller scale. I think it's probably going to be a failure for Apple. It's probably the only new product that Apple has made that I haven't wanted. I'll likely stick with Pebble and maybe get the new color one.

I use Mac products for work but am on Android (Sony Xperia z3 compact) for my phone and love it that way.I wouldn't call myself a fan boy-I like to shop around for what best suits me.
Personally the Apple Watch isn't for me,if I was going to get a smartwatch I would probably go for the Huawei 'cos I like a watch to look like a watch.
Having said that i'm sure Apple will sell loads of these.
Apple are and always have been good at getting people to buy a product that they never knew they needed or creating markets where, after a few years you wonder how you got by without it.
It will be interesting to see if this goes on to be one of those products.
I think they are pushing the whole health angle heavily-the trouble for me is it's unnecessary.I go to the gym on a regular basis and am in prob the best shape of my life (at age 43).I have not once needed to see how many steps I have done, calories burned or heart rate.
There's no substitute for a healthy diet and sensible exercise regime.
Sorry to sound preachy!
For everything else I have my phone-and it's not really a big hassle to get it out of my pocket to read an email or text etc
Interested to know what proportion of people who will buy it are people who buy everything Apple regardless and what proportion genuinely think it will benefit them
Answers on a postcard please-or just reply here!;-)

I hope they've improved the "Hey, Siri" sensitivity on the watch. My iPhone 6 wakes up while plugged in at least once a day usually because it thinks it heard "Hey, Siri". Most of the time, I'm left wondering what it heard that it thought sounded like "Hey, Siri".

It doesn't. Washing hands is very different. A lot less exposure - if any. How often do you get your wrists wet when washing your hands?

Every time if you are doing it correctly....

You don't have to do that vevery time..

I think it will too but I don't think in the numbers or at the rates of the iPhone. People are hesitant and that's a lot of money for most to spend if they aren't "sure" of something.

IMO a lot of people will likely wait to see what comes of it in terms of uses and opinions before they jump in. Who know, perhaps it will be the next big thing :p

I think if the Watch is on you that you don't need to confirm anything with your iPhone. You just move your watch and beep.

So what is the point of this thing again?

That's what I keep asking myself. I kept waiting for Tim Cook to demonstrate something that was worth spending several hundred dollars on versus just taking my phone out of my pocket. And I saw absolutely no use cases for me that justify the price. And it's a first generation device? Nah, man.

When you look at the details for the Sport vs. Stainless Watch, the Sport version doesn't show as many watch faces. I liked how the Stainless Watch has faces showing your next appointment. I didn't see these listed when scrolling through the Sport face options. Does anyone know if they are in fact the same on both?

In the announcement they said you can add those items around any face.

I think I'd be nervous using it as my hotel room key. I'd be paranoid about the battery running low, so would be trying to avoid using the watch whilst out and about... In case I returned to the hotel and am unable to get back in my room! (Where the charger would be waiting...!)

I mean of course they would probably give you a room key just in case something like that happens....

I like the concept but to be truly useful to me it would need GPS and be able to track activities independently from the phone then sync back when it's back within proximity. I have a Garmin Fenix 3 on preorder for precisely this.

My use cases for the Apple Watch then would be at home/office except my phone is always on my desk, or just out walking/shopping, and I can't say Im particularly inconvenienced in removing my phone from my pocket in this case.

Actually, it is the overwhelming majority of the criticism in this thread. Out of the 200 or so negative posts maybe 5 don't mention price.

It's one thing to say "I can't afford this watch". It's another to say "I don't think the value that I will get from this watch justifies the price".

You have no idea how wrong you are. This is going to fail.

Curious... what is fail to you? Only selling 2 million units and not 10 million?

You might not want one but every 17yo will. My kids all aready want one to send messages to each other (and probably answers to test questions).
