I would rather have apple make the Watch app bundled with in app purchases... and allow you to download user created watch faces for free.. like making a separate part of the app store for watch faces.. just like they do for ring tones.

I have the apple watch, its pretty cool, but they need to open up more to development of apple watch faces

As a poor tech guy, I'd say this is not practical and I can do a lot more for $1500. Then again, if I have a few million to throw around, I'd still say this is not practical, but what the hell I'll buy one so I can wear it for a day then give it to my dog as chew toy. I suppose it's all relative...

And keep in mind that there are several million families in the world that do actually have those several million to throw around. They have to spend money on impractical stuff because their practical needs are long since met and the cash keeps just accumulating in their bank account. I'm sure lots of people say they wouldn't spend money like that even if they were rich. But after 10 or 20 years in row of pulling in serious cash, I think a lot of people find that their tastes change. Then purchases like this make sense.

I get the double loop, it's something weird fashion people would wear, I don't however get the big cuff thing :\

I don't care for the double loop at all, too "fashiony" for me, but I really do enjoy the "big cuff things", they go well with my usual black t-shirt/jeans outfit. Admittedly, I have thick wrists... (dog demanded to be in pic).

The competition allows watch faces in their App Store and it doesn't seem to be a proble. A watch is uniquely personal and what is nice in one person's eyes is hideous in another's. Let the owner decide.

Exclusivity is a huge part of this watch; not available online, only available in a handful of large US cities; New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Dallas and Denver

Oh I understand it. A buddy of mine wore a band like that with a big gold medallion around his neck and bell bottoms when he went to the Disco in 1975.

Who is buying this? Sounds like Apple might be keeping the same size for the 2nd gen – otherwise this sounds like a waste of money. Where the heck are the refurbs? I was hoping to pick up one for $199/$249 - otherwise, I am not a buyer at current prices - maybe 2nd gen.

I snared one of the last of the initial stock at the UES Apple Store. It was a somewhat older crowd, mostly women. One 50ish woman was casually debating between putting her name on the list for a double tour in blue (they had none in stock at 9:30am) or getting a Rose Gold Edition. I was wrapping up by then so I don't know what she did, but she wanted to treat herself and clearly had the money.

Apple should have had a reservation system in place. This is attracting a good customer base for Apple, but one that can be demanding.

We really don't understand fashion - as my wife is being "teaching" me with my credit card :p. She would accessorized shoes, dress, purse and make up that go together every time we go out - I put on something quick and call it day :)

I agree I have a cuff watch as well and it goes great with everything.

When were Denver and Dallas added? It's available in cities where Hermes has stores (which unfortunately Chicago does not).

The Double Tour is a women's design. It's actually a classic Hermes look.

Thank you and this is the reason for all the hires from the fashion industry - these folks understand desired/lust as opposed to us that only look at utility.

Wow. The 38mm Single Tour band is a little larger (circumference) than the Classic. I am on the third hole (compared to the fifth on the Classic band). I wonder if women with smaller wrists will have issues with it. Maybe that's why they sell it only through the try-on process.

The buckle is the only band I am remotely interested in, within their collection. That said, theirs is too wide. I really like the look of the one you are sporting, looks like a nice setup.

Chicago would be a great market for Hermes. It's very strange that they don't have a Michigan Ave. location.

The cuff is the nicest of the 3.

Yeah, I definitely dig on it.

I'm guessing: since a cuff design sets the watch on _top_ of a leather band, there's no BP monitoring, or the lock-on-removal security feature (assuming that even if the band had a cutout, it would be close enough to register)

It has a cutout so the monitors can contact your skin.

I don't get high fashion. As long as something looks reasonably nice that's good enough for me.

Now, if Apple and Hermes can make extra money from people who are into this stuff, more power to them. :)
