I'm in love with the packaging.
I'm excited that they are using the iconic orange box, not that I expected them not to.

But why are there two boxes? Are the bands going to be sold separately?

I think so. They have 3 bands so people can exchange them, on Apple Hermés Watch of course. You might buy extra band for yours but I don't think you'll get Hermés Watch faces.
I really don't think that's the case. The bands will not be sold separately. The cube box is for the Cuff and the Double Tour, and the long box is for the Single Tour. I'm just guessing because if the long box is the Double Tour's band, that would be too long for the box to look appealing.
For the Hermès version, if you want all 3 bands you might have to buy all 3 Apple Watches and I'm guessing that based on this logic. If you want all three bands, you must love Hermès so effing much. And if you love Hermès that much, I'm pretty sure you can afford to buy all 10 models they are offering without batting an eye.
I read that this is the first time Hermés is sharing branding on their packaging with another company.
None of the standard watch faces have Apple branding or logo anywhere so I don't really think of it as replacing. And if Apple does other partnerships I can see them going down this route. And my guess is additional partnerships will be with fashion houses not high end watchmakers. Think Chanel or Gucci. Less likely Louis Vuitton as its part of LVMH which owns Tag and other watch brands. I'm sure Apple will gauge the success of this partnership before doing others but I did see a number of tweets from people saying they had zero interest in an Watch but want one of these Watch Hermés watches. It's also the first time another brand's name and logo have taken precedence over Apple's on their own product. The watch faces only say Hermes. No Apple anywhere - only engraved on the back.

It doesn't make sense for the single tour to come in a skinny long box when every other SS comes in the large square box.
No, but they don't have another company's logo either. The Hermes logo takes absolute precedence.
I think you're definitely right about the other fashion houses, Tiffany too has a unique branding they could bring to the Apple watch.

I'm thinking that the separate bands will cost the close to the difference between the full price and a normal SS. So the single tour would be somewhere around $500.
I'm out of touch..."Iconic". I never knew Orange was like the Tiffany light blue.I'm in love with the packaging.

Also, these are going to be cheaper than their watches usually are—so don't bet on individual bands being for sale. If you have to buy a new watch to get a new style for traditional Hermès watches, you're going to have to do that with the Apple Watch Hermès.

They now have the turquoise band which my wife loves. If they did cobrand and came out in that iconic turquoise box, I think it could be the next rose gold hype. I know my wife would go bananas and my wallet would be depleted.

For now. That really needs to change sooner rather than later ... Should have been part of WOS 2.0But if money isn't the problem, here is one: A user can pair only one watch to a phone.
