You're confusing men with women.

#realtalk

At the level and in the industries he's likely referring to, there really aren't very many women. It's the dudes that are doing the judging, and yes, they are judging.

Woman here. I wouldn't even notice if you shaved your head one day. I just don't spend that much time worrying about other people. As long as you are appropriate for the circumstances, I'm not looking at brands.

Fantastic.

Personal experiences have proven otherwise however.

Nope, I'm speaking in generalities. Deny it all you want, it's completely 100% true.

Am I the only one that uses the email/text/calendar features on my watch to make my work life more productive? It's a tool, and I am of the opinion that the person who uses the most useful tools for the job is the person I want to do business with.

I totally agree. I easily receive over 100 emails per day for my job. And I am an executive in a very large organization. Over the past week I have stopped doing the "pull the phone out of my pocket" move. The  Watch allows me to quickly see the most important notifications and dismiss them or shoot off a quick reply. It's allowed me to tame those 100s of emails.

LOL. I guess your personal experiences trump everyone else's then, eh? Rock on with that.

Hey everyone!

My job role requires me to often dress formally and I've been using automatic watches for the past 15 years. (Mont Blanc)

I have a 38mm SS BCB on order and I'm not still quite sure about wearing one of those in a formal attire, with a suit.

Anyone here who wears one? Thoughts? :)

I think the SS Space Black would be the best in that situation.

Good style is always in fashion; good fashion is not always in style. That sums up so much of this.

A person is like a house. You can have gaudy design with high-end materials, or you can have high-end design with inexpensive materials.

Ridiculous. The SS bracelet options look classy and awesome in any setting. So would the classic buckle.

That does look nice....with the watch face. Problem is, the watch face doesn't stay on so most the time people look at it, just looks like a black slab on your wrist. Meh.

If you want to stand out of the crowd/if you are known for being into the latest tech gadgets, wear it proudly with at least a leather strap - black steel would be slick, but you'd have to order another Watch for that.

If you're in a room full of people who will judge you based on your choice of 1973 vs 1976 Omega Seamaster, stick with the classics.

Personally, I'm in a corporate engineering setting as an engineer (major aerospace corporation). I'm expected to dress up, but an :apple:Watch complements the work environment perfectly.

It's all subjective and most geeks don't understand style. I wouldn't rock a sports watch to work, but I would rock a normal Apple watch with a nice band to work. It's not really about the gadget, it's more about your confidence.

I so agree with all of this. I set new standards never just adhere to old ones. Smartwatches are new so a new standard will be set by those who adopt them.

"...Apple can be really polarizing."

True. It's really sad that people would penalize others for their choice of smart watch, phone, etc.

It's completely ridiculous. But, they do.

This wouldn't stop me from wearing the watch, but I'm a rebel.

Watch snobbery is clearly a thing.

This is 100% a reason to wear it. If someone is going to be a jerk about that sort of thing, you don't need to do business with them, other problems will crop up.

Some days I wish that I was in an industry where I made a ton of money, then I read stuff like this and it makes me feel much better about my life.

I can't imagine having to constantly worry about my appearance being pleasing enough or my watch costing enough to be able to do business. It's absolutely ridiculous honestly, but what do I know I'm just one of the little people.

In all seriousness, it sucks pretty badly, especially when you're just working your way up and you're expected to dress like you've already made it. And it's not just watch and suit. Who makes your shoes? Your cufflinks? And you better fracking know how to golf, so go learn, because you can't suck but you can't be too good either. And while you're at it, get a good pillow to keep under your desk, because you're not going home tonight (or maybe at all this week).

I wore this in a suit and got made fun of, it has stainless steel and everything so I don't get it ;)

the golf part is so true that I spilled my coffee laughing haha. There is such strong pressure for our executives and sales people to play golf but one guy is really good and no one likes going with him. It's hilarious.

First thing I notice is fitness. That tells you more about a person than their watch, but I do notice watches and how one wears a suit more than the suit itself. Slobs and basic manners speak volumes in many business relationships.

I'm 68yrs old and a retired Aerospace Engineer. I wear my 42MM Sports with the White band everyday with my work clothes....Tshirt, Shorts and Flip Flops! I've never had anybody look at me like I am crazy! :)

The Milanese strap makes any business casual attire acceptable. My peers love mine.

It wouldn't be breaking news would it? ;)

This. Apple Watch is a tech toy for the younger crowd and always will be. It will never go with a nice suit in a formal setting like a high end mechanical watch, ever.

I bet people said that about wearing a suit with tie yet many CEOs don't even wear ties anymore.
