I thought for sure that link band was the one that I wanted. I'm normally an Apple user the preorders everything, for example the last few iPhones and iPads. I did not preorder the Apple Watch though, as I wanted to try them on in person first.

I went to the Apple Store, knowing for sure that I would want the space black link band. After trying them on I realized this band was not for me as it did not fit me well, and the Milanese loop fit me perfectly. I then preordered a 38 mm milanese loop, with a mid May estimate.

Sucks I have to wait, but I've already waited months since it was announced and if I would have pre ordered the link band I would be returning it and waiting for a loop anyways, so in the end the timing is probably all the same

I hear what you are saying. However, in this case I'd reply that Apple has a robust return policy. For those that went ahead and pre-ordered site unseen it is no big deal as we can return what we don't like and then look for another model or band. Either way - pre order and return or wait to get a fitting,- you're looking at a delivery date of June for your final selection. I say take your chances on what you think you may like with a pre-order. You have nothing to lose. IMHO of course.

Bingo. I'm pretty confident I'll like what I ordered, and I'd have to drive about 3 hours to get to an Apple store, so it's not the most convenient thing to do.

ordering stuff online is a skill. at first i was constantly confusing what i like with what would look good on me, and often times sent things back. but over time u develop an eye for what will work for u. experienced shoppers know what i mean.

Yes, that is what is worrying me - that the loop will need to go too far round for the watch to look good. I will endeavour to get to an Apple store to try on.

Given that you're just under the Milanese Loop range for the 38mm, I think that's a given :(

(especially as the same happened to me with the one for the 42mm watch, even though I was just over the minimum range.)

Try it on ASAP...

I am not so worried now! When I measured my wrist with my piece of wool I was not accurate. I tried it again by making a loop from a ball of string and then cutting with scissors......I am 145mm. The wool was too thin and stretchy. But I will still go and try on. I did not go before as I wanted the whole thing to be a surprise when it arrives but perhaps it is a case of one bird in the hand....!

Ah, that's much better if your new measurement is accurate :)

Nice username :D

I made exactly the right decision without having to visit the store in the very busy mall. I'm not buying one!

I'm enjoying the show without having to make any decisions or endure waiting. It's a terrific way to go.

When and if the phone proves worth it to others, I'll still wait for the second generation. Every second gen Apple product I've bought has been a big improvement.

By that logic you will never buy one as every subsequent generation will be better then the previous one(s).

Bit off topic but did anyone realise that you can't send emails via siri like you can on the iPhone but its fine sending text messages via siri? I don't see why they can't add the email functionality as I like to send short quick emails using siri on my iphone and it would be so much easier using my watch.
