I just received a Apple watch sport 38mm and sadly will have to return it simply because it's too heavy for even casual use of the watch. Anyone had this problem? Before anyone comes off I didn't try out the watch at a Apple store because where I live there aren't any.
Huh? heavy ... not even for a female with little girly arms is it heavy

The weight of the watch has nothing to do with it. Try holding your arm out without the watch on and you'll feel the same. It's your arm that that's being held up, not the watch. A few grams of the watch doesn't register.

On the contrary, I did exactly that and I didn't felt my arm get tired stretch out like that

Been a watch person all my life and the AW is way lighter than what I have been wearing for the last few years. I suspect my band on my mechanical watch weights as much as my entire 42mm SS.

It is all what you are used to wearing. You either had a very light watch or wore none at all and it will take some getting used too. Not many return because of weight in these forums.

Yes, exactly. All my previous watches were much smaller and lighter than the Apple watch. And I've been wearing the Apple watch now for two months, and I still feel it's heavy. I like it enough that I'm willing to live with it, though.

Maybe you need to hit the gym. My 100lb. wife has no problems.

My 42mm Sport is much lighter than the watch I've been primarily wearing for the last 8 years. I'm going to have to get used to it in that regard.

I also have the 38 Sports watch, and I do think it's a bit heavy, mainly because I have tiny wrists (I use the last hole on the small Sports band), and basically, even the 38 is really too big for my wrist. It feels heavy because the watch just doesn't fit right. I suggest that the OP wear the watch fairly snug, because if it is loose and moves around, that does feel heavy.

Tried that but instead I felt my blood flow kind of being held up.

Have been doing just that for the last eleven months. I haven't worn a watch in sometime and the fitness tracker that I wore weighted less than 6 g. I known next time I have a genuine concern about the watch to spare me all this absurd comments that I have received from some forum members here and go someplace else. Seriously grow up folks.

+1 - This can be a pretty hostile forum at times. One of the worst I have seen.

What exactly have you been doing in that 11 months?

Does anyone shave their arms because the hair on them is extremely heavy? Even for causal activities it's too heavy. Anyone else have this problem?

Same. I often just tighten my Apple Watch around my hand and hold it in a fist-type motion whilst I curl it.

I go for 6-8 reps and sometimes I chuck on the link bracelet and can do 4 reps as long as I've eaten well/taken a good pre-workout.

EDIT: Just yesterday I did a well formed 'clean-jerk' with the link band. I may have pulled my lower abdominals however so will be switching back to the Sports band whilst I recover.

You may have gotten better responses if you didn't use the word "extremely" and had some context in your original post. An elephant is extremely heavy, but not when you compare it to a cruise ship.

Being heavier than your fitness tracker is one thing, being "extremely" heavy is another.

It's curious that someone would even say this. How ridiculous. Maybe "A bit on the heavy side". Or "I don't like the weight", would be better.

Extremely heavy :D

Of course this is normal here.

If you keep wearing it, you will soon adapt to the extra weight.

Even a very much heavier watch soon becomes unnoticeable in everyday use.

I switched my old watch to my other wrist and was astonished at how heavy and unwieldy it felt. Put it back on the original wrist and it feels as if it isn't even there.

I used to wear an UP band. My SS AW is indeed heavier than it. It doesn't bother me at all. And I'm a small chick with neck/back issues (discs) and I'm fairly weak.

Hopefully you will get used to it soon. It would be missed if you decided not to keep it. It is nice hardware.

Sorry,I just can't stop laughing at this thread. I do feel a little guilty since you do have genuine concern
