I just received a Apple watch sport 38mm and sadly will have to return it simply because it's too heavy for even casual use of the watch. Anyone had this problem? Before anyone comes off I didn't try out the watch at a Apple store because where I live there aren't any.
This is one of the funniest things I've read in a while.... IF you feel the watch is too heavy may I suggest a workout routine that involves some free weights.....

Of course I have as other activity trackers. I still genuinely feel like it's extremely heavy on my wrist. I'll give it a couple of more days I guess. Could it be I have it too tight maybe?
Yes because how tight something is on your wrist changes the weight.... OMFG are you being serious?
Comments like these makes me question wether anyone has held their hand with the watch for more than two seconds while it is being used...
Questions like this make me fear for any future offspring.
I also have the 38 Sports watch, and I do think it's a bit heavy, mainly because I have tiny wrists (I use the last hole on the small Sports band), and basically, even the 38 is really too big for my wrist. It feels heavy because the watch just doesn't fit right. I suggest that the OP wear the watch fairly snug, because if it is loose and moves around, that does feel heavy.
You do realize that the weight doesn't change no matter how tight or loose the band right? Please tell me you understand that......

I wouldn't call it extremely heavy, but after a full day of wearing it, my arm does get tired.
If that's true an apple watch and it's weight is the very very least of your issues.
Tried that but instead I felt my blood flow kind of being held up.
Have been doing just that for the last eleven months. I haven't worn a watch in sometime and the fitness tracker that I wore weighted less than 6 g. I known next time I have a genuine concern about the watch to spare me all this absurd comments that I have received from some forum members here and go someplace else. Seriously grow up folks.
You're saying a watch.... one that weighs next to nothing is too heavy for your wrist and you're telling US to grow up? LoL.

You might have hit it in the nail there. On my second day it doesn't feel register much on my wrist although I'm still undecided if i'll stick with it. The reason why I got one to try out is precisely for when I hit the gym/weights/cardio exercise during my week.
But it's so heavy your arms will be uneven if you wear it when you're working out......

Just when I start to believe there's hope for humanity...... this thread.....

Those with the $17,000 watch must really have a sore arm. Oh wait a sec. they can afford to have someone wear it for them.

Are the weights you're lifting more than 20-30 grams?

You think the apple watch is heavy? Really?

The dome shape on the back puts pressure in a very small point, right over the vein/nerve.
If it were flat with uniform weight distribution, there would be no problem in wearing a heavy watch.

My SS Apple Watch is the first wristwatch I've worn in about 25 years. Today was my first day wearing it, and a lot of what comics addict describes resonates with me. It's a really odd feeling and the watch does definitely feel heavy on my wrist because it's such an unusual sensation for me. I'm not used to this at all and I can tell it's going to take a while before it stops bothering me.

I'm confident that it will eventually become "normal" for me, but it's weird right now. It reminds me a lot of when I first started wearing eyeglasses, which also felt heavy on my face and ears at first (despite weighing considerably less than a wristwatch).

I think all the snark and insulting comments that comics addict's observations have generated is unwarranted and unhelpful. There's no reason to be rude to someone on account of this.

THANK YOU!

I don't know why but I have the feeling that somehow, somewhere, someone from Buzzfeed is reading this, and trying to come up with a headline for their next ineffably hilarious article based on the entirety of this thread.
No offense OP. It's just, I can't help that some of these posts have made my day that was bad, a little more bearable. :p

The OP has made his/her share of unhelpful comments.

Do you even lift?

Obviously the weight doesn't change, but I find that if it's loose, it flaps around and pulls on my wrist, which makes it more uncomfortable to wear.

Several years down the line, when the nth gen watch weighs half as much as the current watch, people are going to pick up first gen watch and think "Oh my god, this is so heavy, I can't believe I used to wear this!"

Really, I think all the knee-jerk reactions and the insistence that it weighs nothing at all is because we like it so much, we want to think the weight isn't a problem. And yes, if you are over 6 foot and weighs 200 pounds, it probably isn't a problem, but those of us under 100 pounds are going to be much happier with a lighter watch.

Probably not the people that are used to wearing normal watches that weigh 5-10 times as much as the current Apple Watch.

Under 100 pounds? Are you 12 years old? I'm tiny and the watch isn't heavy at all.

Yeah, a lot of 12 year olds are bigger than me. :p

And I have a hard time thinking of those watches that weigh more than the Apple watch as normal -- all the watches I used to wear were much lighter than Apple watch.

You sound HUGE.

You must have worn some tiny watches. The Apple Watch is quite light to me. I mean ... I guess I can understand it "feeling" weird ... but feeling weird doesn't mean it's heavy. It's a pretty typical weight for lightweight watches. I just weighed my other watch that's pretty thin and light and it's the same weight as the Apple Watch. So ... I don't know. I guess it's just not for everyone.

I've got the 42mm SS with Link band, which is arguably one of the heavier watch combinations and it is by no means heavy. Don't get my wrong, it's not lightweight and cheap feeling either, but it's not heavy, it just has a nice "well made" weight/feel to it.

With the sport band on it feels pretty light, about half the overall weight comes from the link band.

This must be an online experiment for peoples reaction to threads like this.......results hopefully will be published in future.
