The link bracelet being $449 surprises me. I wanted to get out of here with a SS watch with the link bracelet for $800, but I guess it could have been worse than an extra $200...

Looks very nice and interesting but since it is not water proof, I will hold until it happens.
Not bitching, I am a avid swimmer, surfer and I like to wear my watch at all times. I love the :apple: watch possibilities. It's definitely something I will consider down the road. Very cool.

I'll be going with 42mm SG ($399). Thank you, Apple! I'm excited!

So Gruber was basically right....

He was dead wrong on the stainless steel pricing, though.

$17,000 for the rose gold with modern buckle. But only $649 for the Milanese loop stainless steel.

From the Apple Watch website on water resistivity:

Apple Watch is splash and water resistant but not waterproof. You can, for example, wear and use Apple Watch during exercise, in the rain, and while washing your hands, but submerging Apple Watch is not recommended. Apple Watch has a water resistance rating of IPX7 under IEC standard 60529. The leather bands are not water resistant.

With this announcement I am convinced Apple is more interested in selling products to the 1% than anything else. This audience will buy a $17k watch - that will be useless 3-5 years from now - and not even think about it.
I could see spending $17k on a Rolex that will be fully functional 100 years from now, but a product that relies on an OS? Apple is high.

Apple Watch Edition...$10,000. Sharing my heartbeat with Tim...priceless.

Edit: Didn't see that the initial list wasn't the full selection. Whoops.

Fun fact: It looks like the Milanese Loop is only available in 38mm sizing (edit: it comes in 42mm also if you click to see the full list of bands). That is unfortunate, as it's reasonably priced at $149.

Like MacFather I'm not impressed with the watch.
The selling point is that you don't need to pull your phone out of your pocket or purse. OMG! It's sooooo inconvenient to do that.

I still don't' and won't get it. Maybe gen 2 or 3 if there is a real need or some killer app.

All the prices are now up and running on the Apple site.

According to the UK the stainless steel with the link bracelet will cost £819...not sure I can drop that on a SS when the Sport starts at £299...essentially they are charging £520 for the strap....REALLY

You do realize that every single other manufacturer in this manufacturing segments charges that sort of price for that sort of steel bracelet right?

It costs other manufacturers making these sorts of bracelets at this quality level around $400 to make the parts alone.

If you can figure out a cheaper way to build the exact same thing there are hundreds of companies that would trip over themselves to pay you millions of dollars.

Australia first..........

Love you macrumors, but don't like that you put the U.S. first! Australia is the first on the list.....YES!!

lol. Why hasn't Apple announced solid pricing?

I want to know how much the SS w/ milanese loop will be.

I loved how Cook's tone and demeanor changed when he announced the pricing. Like he was trying to sneak that in there and get away as quickly as possible.

im annoyed that the bands dont work across all models. I want that black steel with black steel band but im not dropping $1100 on a smart watch. Probably stick with the sport model and hope 3rd party helps me out with a better watch band......also the $10k gold watch comes with the same white plastic strap that the $350 model does? Is apple high?
