Apple today announced that the Apple Watch will be available for purchase in Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan on Friday, June 26. The wrist-worn device will be sold through the Apple Store, Apple Online Store and select authorized resellers.

Apple also announced that it will begin selling select Apple Watch models through the Apple Store in two weeks, presumably including the United States and other first wave launch countries. Apple Watch orders have been taken exclusively online since the device launched in April.
"The response to Apple Watch has surpassed our expectations in every way, and we are thrilled to bring it to more customers around the world," said Jeff Williams, Apple's senior vice president of Operations. "We're also making great progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders, and we thank our customers for their patience. All orders placed through May, with the sole exception of Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet, will ship to customers within two weeks. At that time, we'll also begin selling some models in our Apple Retail Stores."
A limited selection of Apple Watch models will be available at 10 Corso Como in Milan, BOONTHESHOP Cheongdam in Seoul and Malmaison by The Hour Glass in Singapore on June 26, just over two months after the device launched in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong and United Kingdom. A total of 16 countries will now sell the Apple Watch.

When we ordered the watches for me and my wife on day one, I was given an end of May (5/14-5/28) date and my wife simply said July.

I am happy to report that as of last night we are now both happily wearing our watches. My guess is that they were clearing the back orders as fast as possible to avoid the riots at WWDC next week.:D

This will go down as the worst Apple launch (hopefully ever as they better not repeat this debacle anytime soon).

So, none of the Scandinavian Countries this time around. Thats unusual. I guess Apple is shifting the priorities of the markets. ....disappointed :(
Probably because it's a new product line. The original iPad didn't come to Sweden until the end of October even though it launched in the US in April and a bunch of European countries in May.

So long Siri isn't available in my language, I dont even care when they release this watch where I live. Hopefully this product will speed up their language support.

Ha. In september 2014 when they said early 2015 I said: yeah right. So much for strategy manipulative statements to avoid attention to the fact that they cant deliver and delivers a me too product long after others.

Italy (Rome, Milan) & Spain (Madrid): Ranking world fashion capitals
Singapore: Gadget hungry and wealthy population
S. Korea: Home of Samsung
Switzerland: World watch capital

Not really sure of the importance of Mexico or Taiwan to the AW marketing drive to make it part of the 2nd wave launch.

When demand outstrips supply, generally, it's a positive reception to a new product.

For an online only launch, I'd say it's worked out well.

I agree!

Funny looking back a few weeks where many were claiming Apple were intentionally holding back supply to stimulate demand.

Where are those people now?

Taiwan has some very wealthy areas with buyers whose profiles are similar to Chinese mainland buyers.

Mexico does confuse me. There must be some buyer demographic data that suggests these watches are selling briskly among the Hispanic/Latino populations.

Apple does "me too products" better than anyone.

Your rant makes no sense.

Apple is never the first to market for anything. They always wait for the competitors to release products, evaluate the market, and come out with something better, sometimes YEARS later.

Wearing their watches?

People who are not in manufacturing have no clue about production issues.
This is a beta series launch, so there are so many quirks to work out and despite
most excellent planning they have to work with what they get.

Taptic engines failing, find out why. Takes a while. Produce again .
Even at a 24/7 pace there was a hold up.

Not enough cows for the leather straps, discolored steel loops, mis-threaded small screws.
We won't hear a peep about any issues, they just get worked out.

All the complainers should take the job of producing millions of a high tech gadget
in umpteen configurations without having enough time.
They'd all shut up after that roller coaster ride.

All this frenzy because people just can't wait? Sick generation.

Exactly. And that is why I knew that the statement of early 2015 was manipulative.

The statement was made to hold people off other watches.

Finally, Singapore!!!

Interesting to hear that one of the outlets participating in the launch is Hour Glass, who supposedly deals with luxury watches. Not sure if that will affect their image, but hey, if it will draw in the crowds and earn you money...

From the couple of store visits I've made over the past few weeks, there were only 1 or 2 people at the Watch table. I am guessing that this is because looking and not being able to go home with a Watch is having a real effect on sales.

I'm one of those people that thinks the Watch launch was anything but smooth and they must have rushed to launch before production was truly ready. In my opinion, they would have been better making everyone wait an extra 60 days and simply executed a launch at retail. This thinking that they need employees spending huge amounts of time with customers looking at buying a Watch was just silly. In reality, it's not much different from choosing an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iMac, etc.

Apple will only start to see how the Watch is going to sell once they're in-store.

And for Ireland... No points.

Not surprising, as we still don't have an Apple store! God bless third-party remailers in the UK, that's all I can say.

I was assuming the Netherlands would be amongst the 2nd wave countries, too bad it's not. Guess I'll be picking one up in Seoul once I've moved there next month.

Mexico is Apple's seventh market, and its world's tenth biggest economy, with 120 million customers it has been in fact often relegated.

I sport an iPad, iPhone, apple TV and Mac, love them all, cant wait to try the watch.
