And for Ireland... No points.

Not surprising, as we still don't have an Apple store! God bless third-party remailers in the UK, that's all I can say.
Well, it's the big five in Europe (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain) + Switzerland (rich, highest Apple marketshare in Europe, home of the high-end watch industry) this time after only the big three (UK, France, Germany) in the initial round. It's just going by market size.

That makes absolute sense! Especially here in New Zealand where the minimum wage is $14.75 an hour!!! Hence, no Apple stores!

Sorry, I'm referring to employment conditions in those smaller countries. Employees in the USA, Australia don't get the same entitlements as those in Norway.

So, none of the Scandinavian Countries this time around. Thats unusual. I guess Apple is shifting the priorities of the markets. ....disappointed :(
Looks like they release it in countries with low demand, due to still limited production.
Spain, Mexico, Taiwan...

Any thoughts as to what these 'curated' models might be? Sounds very interesting!
Perhaps its those amazing colours Jony Ive debuted in Milan(?) last month

I saw it in action and it made me realize that I definitely don't need this product. It's extremely underwhelming for Apple.

You kind of have to live with it to see the real impact. But even so, it isn't quite as revolutionary as the iPhone or iPod. I put it at the same level as the iPad really. At first blush lots of folks won't see the value. But then they will eventually own one and use it regularly.
Though it is a bit finicky at this stage. And a little unpredictable. For example, why did it download the Twitter App recently? I never told it to. But now it is on my watch. I use twitter pretty regularly though, so it was something I was eventually going to download. But there are mysterious things that it does or that I'm not sure how to use and I've had it for a few days.

The path toward a computer on everyone's wrist seems pretty clear though. The utility and convenience is too strong to avoid, especially in a few years when the Watch can do more and the rest of the world is more designed to integrate with it.

Perhaps I'm spoiled by the availability of the iPhone, which we usually get pretty quickly. Then again, unlike the phone, this is a whole new product category, so it makes sense they're going to be more cautious.

It's no less irritating for those who haven't been able to get their hands on one yet, though.

When we ordered the watches for me and my wife on day one, I was given an end of May (5/14-5/28) date and my wife simply said July.

I am happy to report that as of last night we are now both happily wearing our watches. My guess is that they were clearing the back orders as fast as possible to avoid the riots at WWDC next week.:D

This will go down as the worst Apple launch (hopefully ever as they better not repeat this debacle anytime soon).
I can see it for Apple Watch 2 as more of like how an iPhone launch is now. Build new features into the new watch as they're selling the Apple Watch 1, build up the supply of the AW2, have a normal launch with the lines around the block.

PS. I also had the same experience... Late June, then June22-29, then June 16-22, then Hey! it'll be delivered tomorrow (on June 1)! Good feelings all around!

Every time a Watch-capable App auto-updates on the iPhone, it pushes itself to the Watch whether you wanted the app installed or not. This is a bug I've witnessed many times now and it's super obnoxious.

"All orders placed in May will ship within two weeks."

NOT TRUE. I ordered my Watch on May 19th. Still waiting. It's been nearly three weeks.

I love Apple, just calling them out on this ;)

"“The response to Apple Watch has surpassed our expectations in every way, and we are thrilled to bring it to more customers around the world,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s senior vice president of Operations. “We’re also making great progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders, and we thank our customers for their patience. All orders placed through May, with the sole exception of Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet, will ship to customers within two weeks. At that time, we’ll also begin selling some models in our Apple Retail Stores.”"

I finally got mine on Tuesday after receiving my order confirmation at 2:12 AM local, 0:12 AM on 4/10. So I was at the front of the line. I had that confirmed when I went in to the Apple Store on Knox Street ("Highland Park", but really Dallas, TX). It was only the second 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel the sales guy had seen in the wild! I'm pretty excited about that for Apple's sales rate. Time will tell.

My only technical gripe with it is that I think the taptic engine is a wee bit feeble. It has settings for off, medium, and high, which I think should represent 0, 1, and 2 on a scale of 0 to 5. I want that thing to get my attention! Especially if I am in the Fab clean room at work. It's noisy, and I'm in a clean room suit, so I need that thing to speak to me.

Added a black flouroelastomer band to my kit, and I am good to go.

Is this even with the Automatic Downloads option turned off in the Apple Watch app settings? I've got this option turned off and currently I've only got apps on the watch that I manually installed to it but I don't think I've had any watch capable apps with updates since it arrived yesterday.

I think they mean within 2 weeks of their announcement.

I have another watch I ordered on 5/21 and it has most definitely not shipped yet.

If that's the case then New Zealand will have to wait until 2017.
