Apple Watch Now Available for Pre-Order Through Apple's Online Store

I was able to buy the 42mm Steel with black rubber band at 12:03 on the Apple Store App. I was doubtful that it was better, but it took twice as long for the online store website to open up for sale. Important lesson learned for future releases. But more importantly, YAY APPLE WATCH!!!
 
I don't understand why the aluminum sport models don't come with the option for a sapphire crystal. I'd much rather get the silver aluminum with sapphire rather than the SS, but definitely want the sapphire over the ion-x.

Sure. The Watch is just a bunch of off-the-shelf parts bought from Chinese OEMs and assembled in a haphazard way. Nothing difficult or complex about it at all. Shame on Apple!
 
Ordered 2 and got thru both within 5 minutes using the App. Just got confirmation email it will be here 4/24 :)

I think this is Apple being cautious. Low stocks because they weren't sure about demand. I am wondering if they will ramp up production now to speed up shipping times unless they are made to order.
We have really seen any details or pics of apple stock for the watch unlike the iPhone
 
Still no tech specs

I thought that by the time orders were available to be made, they might finally list tech specs.

They are selling up to $17,000 devices without listing:

Internal storage (8 GB, but they haven't published this)
Accuracy and range of heart rate sensor
Really any information about the use of the heart rate sensor except that you can glance at it and that it is somehow used in the Workout app

I got 38mm blue sports! :) 4/24 shipping, the 42mm is 4-6 weeks. third-party bands will be plenty soon, so who really cares what band you ordered with if you were getting sports since they are relatively cheap.

I got mine at 8:02 in the UK and it stated 4-6 weeks. A few minutes later it was bumped up to a June dispatch date. It's what we've come to expect at Apple Launch dates!

Was able to get 42MM SS with Black Classic Buckle Delivers: 4/24-5/8. I wanted the leather loop but none ready for the 24th
 
2 Sports Space Grey not shipping until May...ordered shortly after the store came up on the Mac.

Now debating whether I should have ordered extra bands with them...Kinda wanted to try the other bands in store first, but worried those will be unavailable for months too.

4 min. to buy 42mm space grey w/ black band + Apple Care and I'm on 5/13-5/27 estimated shipping.

$50 to cover something that's going to get bashed around is being "suckered"?
 
Gold watch with red leatherband 18.000€ :-O (19.130$)

Amount of gold = 200 €
Redleatherband = 40 € (if they push it)
Overprices watch = 399 €

Ekstra just for a gold edition for nothing 17.361€

This is sooooooo dumb. Glad I get mine for free (sports edition that is)

This is what I am thinking. This won't be iPhone demand and imagine how many they can place on a plane.

It's interesting how the rubber bands aren't even showing 4/24 delivery. I mean how many of those should they have stockpiled.
 
What did you get? Please complete this poll (on MacRumors).. From the replies, I'm guessing the Space Grey 42mm Sport was the most popular?
 
I ordered mine at 3:08 AM, just opened my work macbook pro and was able to load the site, select one of my favorites, enter a gift card + cc and I got my 42 mm Stainless w/ black sport band. Email confirmation came in no less than 10 seconds later.

When I check my account + order status on my iPhone app the order still says 4/24 - 5/8 shipping. Here's hoping it comes in ;) Good luck to everyone in getting their precious! :apple:
