When did you see it switch preparing for shipment? Just wondering how long the shipping process takes, or if people are seeing them arrive the next day

Has anyone tried emailing Tim Cook? I know he doesn't respond personally but I've emailed his address 2 times in the past and have gotten responses from apple with other problems in the past and they've been very helpful. I think it'd be worth emailing his address just saying a statement of some sort would be appreciated in regards to this whole process and why people who have ordered the exact same model with later estimated deliveries are getting their watches before those who preordered in the :03 range.

Well it's a start of a new week and still no movement since ordering on day of release at 04. I suspect I will be saying exactly the same thing this time next week!

I emailed him. He replied.

Basically they're getting built and shipped as quickly as they can - based on item, time ordered, and your location.

Here's his reply:

Jason,

We're working hard to get as many units shipped as quickly as possibly. We're shipping in the sequence the order was taken for the specific configuration. No one ordering the configuration you've ordered in the country you live will be shipped before you.

We did complete more of some configurations than we originally predicted for delivery tomorrow. These customers would have been quoted longer delivery times initially. This is likely what you are reading on the web.

Thanks for your patience. We will get you the product you ordered as quickly as we possible.

This frustrates me. Maybe they should have had the numbers ready before saying they were available. Its not like any surplus wouldn't have been sold eventually. They have a tonne of cash in the bank they could have put upfront for this.

So far I have ordered..

Charger
Click Adapter
Screen Protector
Spigen Case

Whats the betting they all arrive before the bloody watch!

I've ordered a click adapter as well...having second thoughts on how good it will look though!

You should never go into business. You will go broke if you have to have every possible configuration of everything that every customer would possibly want on the very FIRST day of sales.

um in apples case they can afford it and they would have sold what ever they made so it was a good point

Just spoke to Apple again, and I said to the guy that I suspected the watch would arrive closer to the 8th of May rather than sooner, and he said he suspect's that might be the case as well... Read into that what you will! :(

They don't seem to have any solid information!

Look I see your point and its a valid argument and they did provide a 2 week window but unfortunately Apple are benchmarked against a higher standard than most and have a very loyal fan base. Which is why so many people are upset that they didn't receive their watch on launch day. Most people have previously been able to receive launch day products by ordering early.

But i think your comments serve no purpose. I think the importance of material things are relative to the person...the "why don't you go work for a charity" argument is just very weak. Why does any body work? Why do we buy anything? why doesn't anybody share all their wealth and live in a socialist society... Don't indulge because the third world needs food etc etc etc..

It just so happens that many people are quite excited by the new product and are disappointed that they have not received it. As I said you trying to act all high and mighty actually serves no purpose.

I actually work in health care and spend a lot of time at work...as you say "helping people". However I would prefer to spend my free time as I wish...if that means posting on this forum, along with countless other, then I will!

Very well said I work in healthcare also and probably do ten times more for the underprivileged and disabled than this guy ever will

same here i work for and Assistive Technology company that specializes is helping individuals with disabilities be more independent so...

Actually that's 3:05am EST, 12:05am PST. Not thinking today. That's still a couple of minutes after your confirmation. I'm not sure if they are shipping by when you began your checkout or ended it, as I had it in my cart very quickly but it took me some extra time to finish my transaction.

If they tracked my order status checks I wouldn't receive a watch until 2037. :)

Thanks for the laugh out loud moment at the end of your message ... I needed it and am in the same boat! :) 42 SS Classic Black band .. Ordered on the 10th and still processing ... and yes, check Apple store App often!

That's 22% of 1.7 million. Wow, they have a REALLY LONG way to go.

Yeah....

If it's taken them two weeks of flat out production to ship just 22% of orders to date, then it is going to take a HELL of a lot longer to ship 100% of just pre-orders, forget about any orders placed after that pre-order date (even though Apple are inexcusably shipping orders placed well after pre-order day).

I think a lot of us should mentally prepare ourselves for not getting anything until the end of next week i.e. right at the end of their original window and I think there is a chance that Apple might fail to even meet that target in a few cases.

Finally! Status Change!

CC charged early AM and status changed to Preparing for Shipment!

42mm SS BSB

:apple: Watch is hopefully a few days from receiving.

Yeah....

Ya I'm mentally preparing myself for it to not come by 5/8 and then deal with the bs if people saying well that was just an estimated delivery not a guaranted delivery date.

I got some movement :)
Ordered my 42mm SG on the 10th at :19 past the hour got a delivery date of June. I woke up this morning and got this message on the Apple status page. Not to bad at least I know they haven't forgot about me.

"Processing Items Available to ship: 4-6 weeks
Delivers: May 29 - Jun 11 by Standard Shipping"
