Apple Watch Order Statuses Shifting to 'Preparing for Shipment'

I ordered a 38mm Milanese at 12:07 Pacific that is still processing and my card has yet to be charged.
 
I ordered the sport grey at 3:09 with applecare. I then ordered an extra charging cable on the 16th. I was charged for the charging cable this afternoon and about 20 minutes ago I was charged for Applecare but not the watch yet.

Put in 4 orders through the iPhone app.

1) 38 sport silver / white sport band — preparing for shipment (delivers 24/4 - 8/5)
2) 38 space grey / black sport band — processing item (4-6 weeks)
3) 38 silver / white sport band — preparing for shipment (delivers 24/4 - 8/5)
4) 42 SS / Milanese loop — processing item (delivers 24/4 - 8/5)

setup alerts on their sites and you will get emails and texts with updates on any shipments to your address in your name. I did this 3 years ago and since then I get emails and texts anytime we order something. i had to have my wife have gifts she buys for me shipped to her parents because i get alerts when they are coming and from what store. makes it easy for me to guess what I am getting :)

Ordered 12:02AM (the second the store came online) with confirmation email at 12:02AM 4/10/2015. Delivery estimate 4/24-5/8.

Payed with Apple pay through Apple Store app.

NO charge, NO status change (Processing).

To say I am frustrated right now is a huge understatement.

Why would you be frustrated? It doesn't matter what the order said. I've RECEIVED an iPhone from UPS and the Apple order said "preparing for shipment."

I've RECEIVED another iPhone and gotten a "shipped" email 2 hours after it was delivered. Units that are already in hubs won't see a status change until the day/night before delivery.

That's awesome but for other people who ordered after me to be getting charged and updated is not fair.

I want the money taken out of my account so I feel like I've actually purchased something.

I wouldn't be frustrated if the majority of other people on here haven't already been charged and are now preparing to ship.
 
I'm pretty agitated, I ordered the Green 38mm sports band a minute after they went up with a 4/24-5/8 date and apparently my card I used ApplePay on through my phone didn't get verified correctly despite working (after a few attempts that didn't recognize it due to the address lacking the "St." portion). I called my card company and they said that no charge came through from Apple — so I don't really know what happened there. Not to mention I did a second order with ApplePay with the same card but it actually took the order correctly.

I went in and added the card info manually on my Watch order when Apple needed verification on my order and it seemed to have taken the change as I got a confirmation email: but I'm still stuck on processing. I really hope that error doesn't result in me not receiving my watch on the 24th. There is a pending charge from Apple so there's that.

I'm not too concerned but it's a little frustrating that ApplePay failed on me in that way.

If you got a 42MM SS watch with a black sports band, and had a April24 to May 8th date. You most likely have not been charged yet, and are still Processing. For some reason the black bands with SS are not being charged. Not yet at least. :/

Matt, there are folks who have those May dates who did see a preparing for shipment... it's really based on inventory and he said that they gave themselves such large breathing room and such big windows for delivery that he expects but can not confirm or guarantee but anticipates that the early delivery dates for an order will be met and the late delivery dates for that order will become the early delivery dates for the next shipping window.

He seemed confident. and though he isn't related to any of the dispatch or retail departments. He said that these shipping windows are not because of anything more than preparation for order variables. There are only 12 iPhone possibilities, while including bands there are dozens of watch possibilities. The shipping windows were to account for not having vast inventory for each combination possibility.

What I take form that is that my 4/24-5/8 will be more like 4/24-4/28 and your dates will be more like 5/8

ITS conjecture of course. Pure speculation. But he has helped me get a product on launch day every year since 2005 and hasn't led me astray yet.

42mm SG black band. Still showing "processing", haven't been charged. I have a delivery date of 5/13-5/27. Since I only live about 80 miles from Oakland, and they are a major distribution hub for carriers, hopefully mine will be shipped sooner than later.

I don't think we are going to see anymore updates for the night here in the US though. Posted at 8:30 PM PDT

Other way around for me. My black sports watch (email came in 1:01 MST) is not prepping but hers milanese is prepping for shipment.

Same as you. Got confirmation email about 2:18am. No change in my status as of yet. Hoping for tomorrow.
