Apple Watch Order Statuses Shifting to 'Preparing for Shipment'

Confirmation of order email at 12:04
Apple Watch 42mm SS w/ Milanese Loop 4/24-5/8
Still no change (realistically it could still make it on the 24)
I ordered a extra charger and got confirmation email at 12:11.
Order status changed Monday at 3 pm and card charged. I got an email and Apple Store App notification yesterday (Tuesday) at 10 am. Shows that shipment has been sent to carrier in Memphis, TN. It seems the email and the notification on the app was a day behind.
Just wanted to share my experience so far.
*Update just noticed my shipping time changed on my it was scheduled for 4/28 and now it's 4/23. It got moved up. Still hope for some that maybe the watch has the same circumstances??? We can only hope....

I ordered the exact same watch, the 42 mm ss with black sport band. It's still processing. No changes at all. I'm settling into the fact that it won't be here Friday too.
where are you? what time did you get your confirmation? was your credit card charged? These would more helpful than just hearing that your preparing to ship, correct?

I cannot sleep, eat, or think straight all because of yourwatch. This is causing me and my wife to fight, my daughter is dating some weird kid now, also. Basically my life is crap because I do not have my watch yet. If you could please ship me this watch ASAP, I can get back to being the outstanding husband, and father that I am.

It's been 12 days since I awoken at 2:45 to prepare for my preorder. With a quick order placed and email confirmation at 3:03, I have had high expectations of receiving my watch on Friday. I was charged and status changed to prep for ship on Monday, which were nice, but now people are getting tracking before me. I....I've snapped. My wife lays lifeless on the floor, and my daughter severely beaten in the closet. A gas can in my hand and a lighter in my pocket tempts me to do the unthinkable, but I digress from burning down my house. After all, isn't it too late...too late to change the shipping address?

Edit: I see the following info being requested of others, so in case it helps:
CC charge went through yesterday at about 4:45PM Eastern, just prior to shipping status change.
Original order placed 4/10 at 3:02AM; confirmation received at just a hair past 3:03.

if you call amex they will tell you there is no pre set limit obviously with in reason duhh I'm not gonna charge 25 Millions dollars at the same time a small charge of 600 not gonna push AMEX over the eddge either
i can say i have once put 15K on the card and because it was the biggest charge i had made i just got a call from AMEX to make sure it was me so chill
They didn't restrict the store at all. My tracking number showed up on the UPS My Choice (or whatever its called) page and I was able to change delivery to the UPS store near my house. Its probably just not letting you do it in UPS's system yet.
I've just literally changed to Preparing for Dispatch [Shipping], so don't despair! My card doesn't seem to have been charged yet but then my bank (HSBC) is slow in that regard. Edit: card has been charged!!
I had confirmation through at 8:05am UK time, 24/4-8/5, SS 42 Milanese Loop.
I'm based in Buckinghamshire, near Oxford, UK.

Here's another good question to ask, is it confirmed that apple is using both UPS and FedEx to deliver? Usually I get my apple products delivered by FedEx that is why I ask, but when I order them, they usually come straight from China as I don't normally pre order. So is it for sure they are using both carriers or only UPS, I haven't seen anyone say anything about Fedex tracking but seen a few say apple was shipping with them too.
Since you're in the U.S., I wouldn't worry too much yet. These are shipping via Overnight from the hubs, so they could technically leave early Friday morning and be at your door in the afternoon (if the hub is close by) -- in such a case, you would actually get the watch before the tracking number gets to you. More than likely, you'll get a status update today or tomorrow, given how early you ordered (per your earlier posts).
lol, I think it was a social commentary on the anxiety all of us are feeling, all while knowing how ridiculous and irrelevant this whole situation is to our actual lives. That being said, i chuckled.
Someone else said they couldn't redirect to UPS store. I still haven't gotten a change in status so not sure if I will be able to or not yet... Hoping it changes soon but thinking I'm out of luck for Friday. SS with black sport band seems to be hard to come by.
Just checked UPS Apple cargo tracker. It looks like 4 planes arrived in Louisville overnight and 3 more planes have left China bound for Alaska then Louisville. There still may be hope for a Friday delivery. My fingers are crossed I'm only a few hours from Louisville. On another note I will receive my charger today. I noticed it origninated from here in Nashville where I live.
I also find it odd that I have not heard of anyone getting the watch through FedEX. Unless I have missed something?
My Charge cable is also arriving today. It's coming through FedEx. Watch? hasn't been charged yet! UGH
I'm in Louisville, KY where the UPS hub is... not sure if that would have any impact.

Interestingly, I only have an option to have it delivered to a UPS store, I cannot choose the distribution center (which is what I would prefer).
