Apple Watch Order Statuses Shifting to 'Preparing for Shipment'

They damn near did that. Think about when they initially announced it! It will be going on a year by the time some people receive theirs. That should have been long enough to gauge interest and accommodate supply accordingly.

That could have worked, let's be realistic, as it has been mentioned before, and I will be blunt here,

This is a case of Apple playing it safe, yes they invested money, but they could have invested more and made this transition more smooth.

Further more they had the "favorites" part in the app and the site,which many many people used and Apple can track those, so for the most part I am sure they had an Idea of what the pre-order sales could possibly be, they just did not want to gamble on that which in this case is turning into angry customers.

I have had ZERO movement. I have Next Day delivery for my SG42Sport and not so much as a hold on my debit card. Paid with ApplePay. I completed my purchase by 3:02 but confirmation didn't come till 3:04

Were you in the 4/24-5/8 range or the 5/13-5/27 range?

That is the truest thing here. With that much time, this should not be the case. iPhones go from announcement to market in the same month or almost. Preorders are a couple days before launch.

Apple just deducted the money from my card, looks like there is hope for me after all!

Ordered the 42mm Sport grey with black band. Order confirmation at :04.

I'll be home waiting for the watch tomorrow.

EXACTLY!!! I mean, I don't have... um, wrists... so they aren't blue, but still. I was all over that stuff - videos, watch apps, etc - before, but now it just makes me sad.

For all the 42mm Space Gray Sport,
I just got an email from Apple saying the card was rejected, I called, changed the card and the payment went through, so we should be starting the process.

I don't think its as simple as that. Opening day sales are always hugely greater than normal day sales. You can't buy capacity based on first day sales - you buy on average day sales - otherwise you have a lot of waisted capacity just sitting around after your opening weekend. All new products require a slow ramp up. Plus I think Apple rejects more product than most companies - if it doesn't meet their standards it gets tossed (or recycled - or whatever they do with rejected units) Thats a good thing - frustrating for us as consumer who want it now - but better to wait and get something that works.

Sweetheart, with our without balls, you can get blue ones! You got them. And it hurts!

We will not be forgotten. I am in the same boat as you and I promise you, we will somehow be better off. like some kind of issue with early Models and the ones that came a couple days later doesn't have it (For anyone getting it friday, I am not wishing that on you, just trying to make her feel better ;)

We will be great.

I just got a charge for my apple watch on my CC!!! Maybe there is still a chance they are going to ship it for tomorrow!???

Trying hard not to get excited again. I'd already resolved to accept I was not getting one tomorrow ... or even beginning of next week.

No I have been stalking my bank, this forum, my email and the Apple website since last Saturday, this is the very first thing I saw in change. I just checked my account and the money is gone.

Separate note - I still show as Processing.

Got the email last night & CC charged just now!

I just got a confirmation of the charge on my CC for my order at 1:05 PM (Central time). I was one of those who got this "Kiss of Death" email last night. I assumed it meant I wasn't getting the watch anytime soon. But with the charge on the card I expect to get in the next few days. Maybe tomorrow, but probably Monday (4/27)

I did order it at 2:02 am central time on 4/10, it was the SG Sport 42mm, black sport band. Will update once I get shipping info. There is still hope for those of us that ordered first and ordered the SG Sport!:cool:
