It's very simple .. This is the greatest feck up in Apple history.
You're going to incur the wrath of the "Apple must never be criticised for anything even when they have clearly messed up" brigade for that one.

The latest I have heard (from an Apple UK rep this morning )is that if you haven't got charged or seen a change from processing then don't get your hopes up for a delivery before May.
My cars has been preauthorised since Tuesday
Don't know what to say to that, I'd have thought you'd have got your watch today (that's what those "Apple is always in the right" guys would have us believe). There is really no consistency coming out from Apple on this. Now I've heard from someone on here that has ordered the exact same watch as me (42mm SS Classic buckle) that their friend who ordered the same watch FIVE hours after pre-orders went live is getting his watch TODAY(despite having a June window) whilst he and I are still stuck in "processing" even though we ordered within MINUETS of pre-orders going live.

Same happen here I ordered 42mm space grey black strap sports 8.01 UK confirmation 8.02 my mate ordered exact same 2 days later got his delivered this morning at 9.30 I would not mind if would at least put out a proper press release and explain what's going on,
They preauthorised my card Tuesday afternoon but haven't actually taken the money they have just got my bank holding it
I always thought when preauthorises it means your item is about to ship????
It seems to me that perhaps a bunch of orders have been missed for shipping or something I've a feeling they are gonna put this down to a computer glitch

Seeing all these reviews, unboxing videos, news alerts etc all about the Apple watch on launch day is really making me sad. I wish I hadn't bothered with the pre-order now like I haven't with any previous Apple product I could deal with not having it but knowing I should have it and don't is far worse.
How much was the preauthorization for? The day after I preordered my watch, I had two preauthorizations for about $1 each on my card, but that's all I ever saw. I think this is completely normal, but does not mean that your watch has shipped (unless they charged you for the full amount).
Here here get this online somewhere for everyone to sign and let see itHere's the only real part that bothers me:
I understand high demand and low supply, which'll lead to extended ship times, delays, etc. Makes complete sense. Sure. Did the watches sell out EXTREMELY quick? Apparently. But we can't change Apple's supply numbers.
But the simple fact that Apple die hard fans (like us) that stayed up or woke up to get early pre-orders in are seeing folks (albeit other Apple die hards) who for some reason or other got their orders in much later receive their watches first is disheartening. Again, understandable if these folks ordered a watch that was in higher supply, but we're seeing it with identical watch styles/combos.
To me, this is an error. This is NOT the Apple we all know and love. There is a procedural/systematical disconnect somewhere along this order fulfillment process, and I think at the least Apple needs to recognize it. I'm sure that basic phone support folks are sick of hearing people call in with questions/complaints about their watch orders, but I think somebody at the C level (Angela, Tim) need to just come out and admit they messed something up here. Please understand I'm not claiming to be a logistical master that can point to what exactly went wrong here (I wouldn't dare), but Apple DOES have those masters. They've proven it with so many previous launches.
This is not a failed launch, that is in no way what I'm implying. This is Apple releasing an awesome product to its millions of fans. But I think it was handled with a flawed process. And the whole miscommunication about no watches available in stores on the 24th is a whole different conversation.
Remember when Antennagate got us all free cases for our iPhones? Maybe early pre-order folks could get a small iTunes gift card for the confusion with all this.
Though I'd settle for a simple apology. Somebody needs to step up and take responsibility for this mess.
