Given that this has made it to FDA approval, I hope that http://www.salu.ca this comes through. High blood pressure and stroke is my bigger concern. Get that going, and I'll buy a computer for my wrist that has to be replaced in alternating years...probably even in ceramic

FYI, I was accepted. And it showed me the “Welcome...” page right after finishing all the “I agree to this and that...”.

The app also shows I have a case study participant ID. (So it’s clear that I’m in.)

Did they diagnose you as having AFIB ?

No, turned out to be a pinched nerve causing my left arm and face to go numb. They ran an ECG just to rule out heart issues. Just wanted to point out it appears the watch does a good job monitoring HR and likely recognizing when to raise a red flag with possible afib. Not diagnose, but just as another tool we can use.

on Thursday night, I got to screen “you are registered...activate notifications...”.

no notification yet. as of Sat am did reload app and went thru same short set up questions, again awaiting notification.

My father and sister both have Afib (and pacemakers), so I am a likely candidate to need this in the future. So many people don’t seem to realise that this is a study, testing the viability of this to become a feature in a future version of watchOS. I wish I could participate, but I absolutely understand the need for this to undergo rigorous testing before being released as an official part of the Watch.

I uninstalled the stupid app for the second time and reinstalled it last night. Nothing for me. I have a Series 3 and an iPhone X in WA. Anybody from WA got accepted?

14 Days. 67 contributions. I’m waiting for the complimentary consult. Which is perfect timing now that we are heading into a new year and a deductible reset.

What would reinstalling the app do? They are accepting people in a proscribed and deliberate way.

I'm still waiting. Guess I might just as well delete the app now. About a week ago, the app told me that I had no watches paired with my phone and the the heart study required a watch to be paired. I have three series 3 watches paired. I had to delete the app and reinstall.

I really don’t get the whole “delete the app and reinstall” thinking. This isn’t a line waiting outside an Apple store. It is a research study. You may or may not ever be selected to participate based on whatever criteria have been predetermined. It’s not like reinstalling will place you at the front of the line for acceptance.

If you’re selected, great! If not, who cares! This isn’t diagnostic.

You don't have to get anything. If people fell they want to delete it after all this time of not being selected, they can. For me, it's really not worth having it on my phone after all this time now.

Yes. But you’re deleting it because you haven’t been selected. To channel Bobby Brown, that’s totally your prerogative.

But I do think people sitting there twiddling their thumbs and trying to game the system to be “selected” completely misses the point of what this is: a research study.

After signing up when the the program was first announced, I was just accepted yesterday. I live in CA, if anyone feels that matters.

I was accepted Friday night. When I switched watches Saturday night, the heart study app reset and I was no longer enrolled. This was on my 7+ paired with three series 3 watches.

On my 6S+ paired with three series 2 watches, it now tells me that I have no watches paired and that the app needs a watch to be paired in order for it to work. This has happened about three times now. each time, I reinstall the heart study app and it still insists that I have no watches paired. The app is clearly bugged.

Ok, I'm new to the forum and to the Heart Study. I'm on day 2 with 8 Heart Rhythm Data Contributions. That being said, what exactly are the 8 contributions? Irregular heart beats? Sorry, to sound like an idiot just looking for clarification.

Thank you in advance!

I received the notification a few day ago. Now reading those terms.

NUMBER OF SUBJECTS / LENGTH OF PARTICIPATION

Approximately 500,000 participants may participate in this study. Your participation in this study will last until approximately January 31, 2019, but data gathered from you in this study will be used and analyzed for a longer period of time. The Apple Heart Study App will continue collecting data from you until January 31, 2019, unless you withdraw from the study or you delete the Apple Heart Study App. Data already collected from you will continue to be analyzed after your participation ends or if you withdraw from the study. If you delete the Apple Heart Study App, you will not be withdrawn from the study.

I haven't ever seen documentation specifically stating what would be contributed. I was hoping that there would be more detail when I signed up but hey, as long as I'm helping someone somewhere it's no skin off my back.

I'm 47 days in with 242 contributions so I would say it's a little light on your end (or heavy on mine, I suppose). Before I turned them off, I was receiving multiple elevated heart rate alerts throughout the night so that may explain why mine is so high.
